What Video caused you to stop watching a Youtuber?

IHE lost me a couple years ago with the nushit Star Wars review he made. I’ve never seen someone embody the smug-but-crying wojak meme so perfectly. He malded so hard. It was the first time I witnessed a YouTuber I regularly watched act so out of character in a video they consciously uploaded.

Ralphthemoviemaker got the wind completely knocked out of his sails after the Joker review. He came out with reviews on some Channel Awesome productions that were pretty good, but ever since then I’ve stopped watching what he’s been uploading. It just seems like he really wanted to be a film director, realized he didn’t have the talent and/or determination to follow through, and reluctantly went back to making videos on YouTube for money. It’s sad that he’s lost pretty much all passion for making funny videos, and there probably won’t be another “Mystery Diner” or “Suicide Squad” review, but I’m glad I have his current catalogue to revisit and enjoy.

A couple of nerds make videos about boardgames they like injected with a bit of humour - sounds good right?
Years pass, and as was the case for many British video dudes, identity politics crushed them into a fine poweder.
If you go to their channel and sort by most views, you will have to go through 54 videos for a video released within the last 365 days. The #2 spot rests 92 videos in.
Rather than explaining why the channel has declined, it may be easier to showcase some recent videos. Bonus points if you last more than a minute.

Want to learn about an old board game? Old videos give you pros and cons, showcasing who the game is- and isn't for, using the personality of the host.
Want to learn about a new board game? One third of new videos will be dedicated to factually incorrect information arguing the importance of portraying uncivilized people as niggers.
The only joy I get from these people these days is how every video with their house troon in the thumbnail gets a fraction of the views of all other videos.

Them, along with Heavy Cardboard; seemed to have followed the same trajectory. Early videos were pretty down to earth, then you'd notice troons starting arriving as guests. Ed wore more and more flamboyant getups, and adorned faggier haircuts. I should dig up where HC started going downhill; still good to learn some harder games from at least.

It's good to remember that Quinton Smith is (or at least was last I kept up with SU&SD) married to Leigh "Gamers Are Dead" Alexander. Matt Lees was also deep into the autism holy war. Quinns also used to write for the crazed leftoid breeding ground called Rock Paper Shotgun.

It's a real shame what happened to them. Back when I first started watching their stuff, it was just Quinns and a fellow named Paul doing the reviews. Paul had a more subdued personality that contrasted with Quinns' enthusiasm really well. There were a few little hints at what was to come, like the guys complaining about "girls with their bums out" in the art for certain games, but it was an overall good time.

Things started to go downhill after Matt came on full time. Reminder that he was such an anti-Gooblergrape foot soldier that he turned down a bunch of money for his (iirc) girlfriend's medical bills because Gamergaters were donating to the GoFundMe.

I stopped watching John Wolfe a long time ago because he got boring...but now he did a charity stream dressed as the RE8 Vampire lady and got upset because he lost hundreds of subscribers because of it. What a whiny fag. I think he is going to troon out sooner or later. He already has long hair now and earrings.

I've been watching John for a super long time now and I am also concerned we have a troon saga coming up. He as a breath of fresh air back in the mid 2010s when every other horror LPer was doing the "oh I'm so scared I NEARLY DIED" thing.

I get the impression he's very burned out at the least. He's made comments about feeling like all he's doing is producing white noise for people to have on in the background. He lost his dad and I think an aunt in the past couple years. He also streams Dead By Daylight on twitch, a game that has a community absolutely infested with alphabet people. He's a prime target.

GRS has increasingly turned to making pieces about things like corporate corruption. I wouldn’t say they’re super-political, he might critique aspects of the system, but I never feel like he’s pushing the left or right.

I find his constantly grumpy schtick a bit wearing sometimes. And I have to say, I wish he’d do more film and TV-related videos. What got me into him was the fact that he had intelligent takes on film and that he’d talk about unusual stuff I’d never heard of. He was the only film YouTuber I saw who came up with a decent analysis of the failure of Ghostbusters 2016 that didn’t boil down to “GET WOKE GO BROKE” or “BASEMENT-DWELLING CHUDS!”

His schtick is getting tiresome, but he's still generally pretty good.

I miss his "Just a thought" short videos tho. And it's a shame his "Hiptang" videos, really brief bits highlighting a particular scene in a movie, only happen around the year's end holidays.

You see it in streams where people will go " say trans rights" just to start shit when the dude just wants to game or talk, and he either addresses it or (more wisely) ignores the trolls trying to cost him his career when he just wants to play Vidya or talk about tanks or some shit.

I remember watching a stream by Pat (of former Superbestfriends, currently Castlesuperbeast fame), and someone did that on the chat.
Before that point, he'd stayed pretty apolitical, but there were some indications that he and his girlfriend Paige were more towards the right. She was a regular on the Dick Show, appeared once on Rekieta's and once on the Killstream, had loudly criticized feminism and all the "the wahmen" crap, advocated for and donated to charities for male victims of violence, etc. Pat had said that Gamergate was "tabloid bullshit on the drama stuff, but absolutely right on the journalistic stuff, and everyone knew it", stuff like that.
Tho I'm not taking that as definitive evidence of anything -he could still be a retard lefty beyond all that; he's Canadian after all-, but when the "Say trans rights" message popped up you could see the fear in his eyes and his body language as he paused for a moment, and then stumbled out a "uh, o-of course trans rights". It was the same kind of reaction you get when you catch someone on a lie and they oversteer on the opposite direction.

I knew that was the beginning of the end right there. It's been bad political take after bad political take since then.
Eventually stopped watching him, Paige, and Woolie (the other Castlesuperbeast guy) because they got boring, more than for their lefty sperging. But lefty sperg they do, oh they do.

I stopped watching Tantacrul as a result of his anti-Sanctioned Suicide video. His music-related stuff was actually pretty good; it's a shame he turned into a crusading moralfag.

Anyway, for my contribution, it's Trap Lore Ross. I don't like trap music but I did find his videos interesting when discussing gang wars, murder, and how it tied to the music produced as well as how idiot kids with more money than brains fucked it all up.

However, I promptly dropped his ass when he posted his Eminem dicksucking piece disguises as going over the relationship between Em and his girlfriend/wife whatever.

I don't give a shit about either party but I hate when biases shine through despite trying to present facts objectively. Ross openly admits that he's an Eminem fanboy (calling him one of the best rap artists of all time) and that shines like a dying star through the entire video with the way he's harsher on Kim or whatever her name was but lets Eminem skate by easier because "he changed and create rap music history"

If you're doing a documentary on this shit, don't let your fanboyism blind you.

I used to like Midnight's Edge for the scoops and rumors about cringe behind the scenes stuff in Hollywood, but now... they barely do what they did best. Before they'd upload a comprehensive point-for point rundown of the scoop or rumor, and although some got long, they were in depth enough you didn't get bored.

Now? most of the time they announce something in the title of the video, and the video is just a 3-hour livestream of 6 people shooting the shit and talking about whatever sprinkled in with the supposed subject of the matter every now and then in a "well did ya hear now that..." with no order or outline and more concerned with keeping their live chat regulars busy like a brainless twitch streamer. I don't have time to watch a 3 hour stream or skip around the whole thing until I find the moment they are addressing the matter (for a bit until they get distracted and digress away) every time I want to know the latest blunder from Disney.

He's an entertaining and charismatic enough guy, but I think he's let his edgy contrarian streak take over too much lately. I think that stems from him being a former homeschooled evangelical turned atheist. He had a vlog channel in the early 2010s that had a lot of cringe "checkmate xtians" videos on it.

He's been at 800k subs for a while now where somebody like ManlyBadassHero, who used to be a much smaller channel doing similar stuff, is already up to 1.5 million.

On top of all this, repeating the mistakes 99% of the other content creators make you fall out of lane and start going off on exhaustive talking points. Okay, out of pure morbid curiosity I tried to watch that lolicon thing and lasted only seven minutes.

Thing is I wound up thoroughly confused as to what Lolicon even is. In art terms, is it any drawn depiction of children or characters who look like children (so for example are the little sister characters from 1980s cartoons technically lolicon art)? Or is it only lolicon if its some of the crap he showed where clearly the artist wants you to be eyeballing their "features?"
