I remember a friend sending me Jim's video of his idea of Dark Souls being a criticism on classism and capitalism and I remember watching that video and thinking that although Jim clearly says you can disagree with him, that he sounded way far up his own ass.

Watching his recent Elden Ring video proved me right. Jim is fat, ugly, and I nor his wife would fuck him.

Where's his iPhone boycott? Don't tell me pampered Jim would choose a product over people. Where did those clothes come from, Jim? Were they locally sourced from a tailor, or did you get them imported by third world sweatshop labor?

And when confroned with this fact, they respond with that same "you don't like society yet you participate in it" comic every time. You know the one:

I've always hated this comic because the comparison being made is extremely disingenuous. In the third and fourth panels, the people making the complaints are directly affected by the problem and have no other option but to complain - the man who drives a Ford Model T is directly affected by his car not having a seat belt, the feudal serf is directly affected by the system he is living under. Their complaints are valid because they are the direct recipients of the harms caused by the current system.

But that's not true of the person in the first panel. To them, the harm is externalised. They are consciously choosing to be the recipients of the benefits of an exploitative system in which they themselves are not exploited, so their complaints of the exploitative nature of that system ring hollow. You would think the left, the same people who harp on endlessly about the importance of power dynamics, would have noticed this discrepancy.

So I watched both 'specials' and I can't remember which one it was, but it has a guest constantly harping on about how Jim is 'SO HEALTHY. SO HEALTHY AND HAPPIER THEN SHE HAS EVER BEEN. STEPHANIE IS SO HEALTHY' and I'm wondering why the hell they insist on using the word healthy unless its a roundabout way of saying Jim isn't fat. Since if they said Jim isn't fat everyone would be laughing at them.

I don't think you fully appreciate the gravity of the situation. Jim needs the toys more than Mbeke needs clean drinking water. The lithium tainted drinking water or lead poisoning or what have you may kill Mbeke in a few months or years, but Jim and his fellows would kill themselves within days lacking cheap and easy access to funko pops, marketable plushies, or other mass produced consumer goods. Asking for consistency from them on this is tantamount to calling for tranny genocide.

For me, the past few weeks have confirmed there is some sort of karma.

Getting lean and healthy = delayed gratification, a ruthless self-assessment (the part that scares people like Jim the most), actual consistency, and revulsion to/abandonment by people one used to count as friends. Not an overnight change, and definitely not easy.

I hate it because there is no use in pointing out problems with anything if there is no one interested or capable of fixing the problem around. Which is exactly the kind of slacktivism Jim is doing.
