Warframe

Do sparring weapons still have the donkey-kick slide attack that flings enemies across the map? I recall having a great laugh with some clanmates in one of the Grineer arenas after punting one of the Clone Cat Grandmas into the skybox at escape velocity.
Incidentally, we had a copy of Vengeful Revenant drop shortly afterwards. The Space Gods must have been pleased with our offering.

Have they spoken about cross-save at all recently? I'm extremely interested in how they'll handle cosmetic migration
If anything'll get me interested again it's getting my console tennogen and prime access armor back.

Speculation has been that cross-save might be released for Tennocon, around July, but with the latest set of [DE]lays to Duviri, that timeline might be slipping again.

Citrine's Last Wish is now out.
This new frame and the game mode necessary to obtain it just seem unimaginative. In fact, the last two years of new frames have been pretty bland and generic, even if some of the frames have been functionally okay. DE is ruining out of ideas and should maybe focus on some other aspect of the game like fixing the underused, underpowered frames that have been around for nearly a decade.

Nah they'll just nerf the fun frames again. (I haven't played actively in like a year)

It was really annoying when they nerfed ember so I couldn't be lazy and napalm a whole map constantly. Too bad mag just sits there, maybe still unused and unloved.

I think the new gamemode, while not exactly original, at least is a MASSIVE improvement over a lot of content DE's been putting out. It's not just focused around nuking the map, but rather defending for a given amount of time (which means CC is now actually viable instead of an active detriment) while collecting crystals. It encourages balancing defense and resource gathering. It's by no means revolutionary, but it's a step in the right direction, and it's at least fun for a few rounds.

didn't they already have that? I remember some defense/collect stuff years ago when I stilled played it for a bit.

I seem to recall some new feature they introduced after I stopped playing that you could "replace" frame abilities with those from other frames.

Obviously you are ending up with a certain list of abilities that will always get replaced by "better" abilities from other frames. They just nerfed the top 5 abilities that were picked, instead of working on making the ones that are being replaced better or more interesting.

That sounded like such a DE thing to do it wasn't even funny. Like I said, I didn't use that system so I don't know how much of a hyperbole people made of it, but it wouldn't be the first time DE completely lost the plot with their nerfing.

You had both excavation, which is annoying because it's dependent on a very specific enemy spawning, and void flood, which is basically just picking up the globs of white stuff and depositing them into the objective. The new gamemode combines a less shitty version of defense that's no longer dependant on killing all enemies with void flood's collection mechanic which means you have to play two objectives at once, or have one or two guys dedicated to picking up crystals. Not too original, but it's nice that DE finally managed to encourage co-op without forcing it. It only took them 10 years to figure out, but they did it.

The most significant change that's happened since Rebecca got put in charge is that we finally have someone at the top who actually plays the goddamn game. This is reflected in how both of the last 2 frames, Voruna and now Citrine, still have grindy game mechanics attached to acquiring them, but now there's pity. Both new game modes, conjunction survival and mirror defense, each drop a new resource that can be directly traded for every significant item in the update. This is in addition to the loot tables themselves also containing the BPs, components, arcanes, etc.

This way, if you're playing to grind for the new arcanes or pistol or whatever and there's still one part you haven't quite been able to get as a random reward, you can now just buy the damn thing and move on. This also means that it actually respects the time spent playing, since even if you don't get your desired reward you didn't waste time, since you at least acquired more pity towards the actual purchase of the bit.

Yep, especially for wrongthink in Region chat. It's like Reddit distilled into game form.
There was that massive false banwave in December because some tranny coder fucked something up and the server flagged a massive amount of people.

I'm so glad they added Citrine to the game. It's about time DE added some representation for transmen who have had a bilateral mastectomy and a hysterectomy and now have massive gaping scars where their healthy body parts once were.

It's almost as affirming as when they added Hildryn to give representation to morbidly obese women.

I kind of want to jump back in and see all the new stuff but its been so long it would almost be easier to create a new account and start fresh. I once tried to go back a few month ago and had no idea what the fuck was going on any more.

Do you still have to do all that rail jack shit?

It's much easier to get a failjack now.
The real killer is getting the negromech you need for like 5 minutes in the new war which could've easily just been omitted from the quest but they had to shoehorn it in somehow.

I reinstalled, logged in sometime last year, saw that, decided I didn't want to do that grind and uninstalled the game right after.

The worst part about Warframe is without a doubt that the fanbase adamantly defends shitty grinds. I don't mind putting hours into a video game if there's real content there but doing the EXACT SAME MISSION a certain number of times (or worse, until RNG is merciful to you) is shitty design that's just there to artifically keep players invested.

Pretty much. It also drives players to the market to trade platinum for items/arcanes/mods that people are just tired of rolling the dice for, and someone at some point has to buy the premium currency...
