Warframe

I just never understood how people can play these types of games without KB+M. Bullet jumping is practically one of warframe's defining features and is the biggest reason the game's mobility feels so free.
On that particular note, I don't think I've seen an XBox player with any kind of long range precision weapon. Anything with a high rate of fire and low intended range seems to be the flavor of choice when not engaging in melee, though I think I saw one or two people using the explodey bows.

Is Warframe really worth picking up these days? I kinda want to give it a solid shot, but I'm honestly not quite sure.

I wouldn't without some kind of clan to help guide you. It is large and poorly explained.

As someone who prefers to solo content as much as possible, that's a bit worrisome. Part of me still wants to give it a shot regardless - I'm more than willing to sit down and learn the game when needed - but I will try and find a clan to help, if possible. If not, then... well, I got the game for free anyway and it seems like a fun timewaster regardless.

There’s YouTube videos that can always help. It’s a nice time waster game that gives you a lot of different weapons and missions to play with. Just be aware of the grind for resources.

It's worth a look to see if you like it. The grind is still a thing and most of the content you can do solo without specialized loadouts, but the various systems that have been added over the years still don't mesh particularly well.

I'm honestly okay with a game being grindy; as long as it's fun and it actually feels like I'm making some form of progress, then I'm okay with a grind.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a build or playstyle? I actually did hop on the game and play it briefly a long time ago, but I never got too far - I used a stealth build with the bow, did okay, but I would like some tips for later, if possible.

Depends on whether you're playing on PC or console. From what I've seen, console players are much more likely to consistently engage in melee combat where many PC players fall more along the lines of "I'm carrying a melee weapon for the sake of having one". Along the same lines, PC players are much more likely to carry high-damage long range precision weapons whereas console players tend to favor shorter ranged shotguns and other rapid-fire weapons.

It also depends on what the mission is. If it's something like a spy mission, I'll probably just pick my Loki and be invisible forever because the goal is to crack the vaults, not murder everyone and being invisible just lets me rush through the mission without alarms going off or people clustering in the doors I need to go through. If I need to dish out the murder, here comes Saryn or Mesa ability spam for AoE/line of sight death.

Sure, nothing is really stopping me from taking my Loki to another mission type, staying invisible forever and dishing out the damage but I don't really feel it's as fun or effective as breaking out Mesa/Saryn/Titania. But until you get to the late game, pretty much everything is viable and by the time you get there you'll know enough to have a good mix of survival and damage.

TL;DR - If a weapon has a high crit chance, make that chance higher and give it crit damage.
Multishot is always good (more bullet for your bullet).
Stealth is always optional.
Mobility is your friend.
Warframe abilities are there to be used, and not all abilities are equal.
Anything big and/or glowing in a color should be killed first.
If you need more firepower, recruiting/LFG chat will almost always provide it.

PS4 player, here; it's fortunate that I enjoy running melee, shotguns, and SMGs in other video games the most, then! Also, yeah; I think stealth can be fun when I can do it well, but sometimes it's just far more fun to shotgun someone in the face and start a party.

Even on the PC I loved shotguns and SMG cause the game engine really lets shit ragdoll like crazy once its dead. Blowing a corpse about half way through the level never got old.

Also if you have Amazon Prime (https://gaming.amazon.com/home) it gives a decent amount of Warframe stuff basically every month. Right now you can get a free Octavia Iridos Bundle.

It's too bad you're on console, because on PC you get to experience the majesty of Harrow, the holy priest of red crits. I'm guessing he's not going to be nearly as fun to use on console cause he's all about getting headshots.

You'll need at least 4 to do steel path endgame for the whole system since interception is not possible to solo at all.

Cross Play is now up. I can now torment people from my Xbox..

Still waiting on Cross Saves.

I wish they would do something to revitalize conclave. The fact that they patched some stuff in conclave that's been years overdue in the last update gives me a tiny sliver of hope.

The only way to properly play Conclave is to get a bunch of guys to boost each other for the cosmetics.

it's entirely possible to do interception solo, i did most of steel path as normal excalibur before and after the buff;
  • solo squads get an increased capture rate for towers, last i checked anyways. maintaining the minimum of three towers is piss easy with this and any mobility mod in your exilus slot.
  • once you realise the UI tells you which tower is getting captured (flashing icon), nuke it with whatever you have. even a sniper works if you are in line of sight of the hack console.
  • if you literally cannot hold more than 2 towers, consider spectre spam on one tower and have them hold the position so you have one less tower to babysit.
remember that you only have to do one round of interception, and if you're a random group hermit, fissures/incursions do count towards star chart completion and tend to have actual players doing them.

Liberal use of specters and on call crew with good weapons will also help out a lot as specters scale with map level and a two or three star Saryn specter with Acceltra will completely murder everything in an open map if placed in a good spot. Saryn in general makes solo Steel Path piss easy as her spores have no cap on how high they scale, at least none I've found yet, she has a decoy with a self heal if you have the augment and you don't even need line of sight to spread spores. Expect to have to clear non alert Steel Path missions on your own anyway since nobody does them.

Alternatively, if you have Nidus you can try building high range/low duration and sling meatballs to repeatedly pull half the map into one spot like some awful vaudeville skit. Lay down meat carpet and tether yourself to an enemy, and you can run the damage to energy mod with no issues thanks to insane damage reduction and health regen.
Assuming that still works, of course. I haven't touched the game since a while after struggling through the raid boss in Nef Anyo's Neon Freezy Wonderland.

Is there a Farms clan on the go for PlayStation? Thinking of installing again as a palette cleanser after Callisto Protocol.

Openly identifying with Kiwifarms will, most likelly, get you banned, all it takes is one of the lefty retards/troons/faggots, who, unfortunately, compromise a big chunk of Warframe population, crying to one of the mods on the forum and BAM - welcome to the banworld. I mean, is this retarded "trap" ban in General still active? I can confirm it was still active in 2020, because i got banned for a week while checking it myself.
