Warframe

The worst is that there isn't some sort of "Welcome Back" guide to figure out what the hell to do. Warframe greatest strength of being weird as hell also means it hard as hell to come back and figure out what is going on.

I left 2 to 3 years ago, wanted to come back, and just hit a break wall of "What the fuck is this thing?"
Warframe has always had that problem in some capacity. It's the "new player" problem, only you can be out of the game for a year and when you come back, you're in the same boat of having to look up wiki articles because DE can't be arsed to explain their own game. The only advantage a returning player has is knowing what used to be OP as fuck rather than finding out the hard way.

These days it's a bit better though since most things tend to be at the very least adequate to things you want to do and some things are just not touched for a long time, for example my Saryn build has not changed since they overhauled her however many years ago. Weapon builds and meta have somewhat changed with Kuva and Tenet weapons and also Steel Path mods and while I can't exactly say that looking shit up doesn't help the vast majority of things are still gonna end up with whoever you just went against having to shampoo all their carpets while you didn't get a scratch on you.

If you ever had the hand full of basic important mods at any point since Derelict Vaults you'll still be fine. Railjack you can just ride bitch in a turret for a few missions until you get the drops and the shit to build them. For everything else you can hit up https://overframe.gg/ and get the basic idea. Also you can now just get the Oxylus pack for like 50 plat, do whatever with the sentinel, keep the Verglas which is a death ray that floats just above your shoulder in any sentinel when modded right that can and has for me carried up to mid tier missions and pulled its weight in everything the game has to offer.

If I still played, I'd tell you that you'd only pry my kubrows and kavats from my cold dead hands... and since I mained Oberon, the most dangerous things were 1 hour Kuva siphons and terribad pathfinding.

Well you would be in luck they have mutated cats and dogs now, there is one space cat thing that's a mini Saryn and also immortal so it's very popular for long missions. It is however a Deimos grind and one of the less pleasant ones but if you want cool space animals that's your ticket.

So contrary to my previous post, a mad bout of insomnia meant I ended up playing again. Railjack is as clunky and shit as I feared, at least at lower levels and when solo. Maybe at higher levels or with groups it might be better, but honestly I don't see anything super worth it that I wouldn't just farm plat and buy (also the developer who moved all 4 of Ash's BPs to rotation C of the most cancerous defence mission ever at ~10% drop rates should be fucking shot)

Deimos was actually a little better than I feared. I still loathe the mining/hunting/fishing shite, but the bounties have better rewards (seriously why do Cetus 40-60 bonties give a couple hundred endo when Deimos give 1k?), and the token system letting you basically store rep past your cap is a vast improvement. The fact that it only took like 2 top tier bounties to get my daily rep, even with a 28k daily cap is nice. However I really wish they'd get rid of the gilding nonsense. I really didn;t wanna have to essentially them 12 times just to get mastery.
The Necraloid syndicate, at least early on is fucking cancer. The fact that you have to run the T1 vaults at minimum 10-15 times for the first level is BS. However later on it's much better. Again I can get my daily cap and then some with just two vault runs (and since they have statues for sale it might be worth the time to do regularly). I also love the fact that the vaults can drop a ton of resources, enough that I've only had to go specficially gathering once or twice.

The New War I found kinda meh overall. I'll spoiler shit incase anyone stumbles across this thread like I did and haven't done it for whatever reason.
The sections as the grineer and corpus dude wre an interesting change of pace. Getting to see the happenings from the point of view of someone who can't just peacemaker go brrrrrt every problem was fun.
The Teshin section however sucked balls imo. I hated the clunky "match colour to win" mechanic, and that follow the light and hit shit to open doors section can suck a horsecock. Maybe mine was bugged or something but I failed a bunch of them because either the Chakram wouldn't hit the fucking thing, or I fell and died while trying to port over the gap and ran out of time.
I also wasn't a massive fan of the drifter stuff overall. The stealth felt superflous when you could easily dome everyone with your space revolver without any real difficulty.
The Archon fights were interesting to go into blind because I had to figure out the mechanics (like being able to walk through Boreal's pushback and shoot him using smokescreen etc). Just wish you got to do all 3 fights as the drifter instead of instawinning the final one because you have the frame back. Also really wish they'd properly do checkpoints though, I ended up doing two of the missions a couple of times due to crashing, which resets you out of the mission.
The necramech section felt entirely pointless, and since I spent a bunch of effort farming one solely because you need one for the quest I was kinda pissed. I spent the entire section following Erra thinking it'd be just as easy/quick if not more so to do in my actual frame.

The post ending Narmer Bounties are absolute fucking dogshite. The fact that for the new repeatable stuff they chose the two worst open worlds, where they still haven't fixed a lot of the issues that have plagued them for literally years, they added yet another timer system (wtf is DE's boner for putting shit on timers/cycles?) and worst of all the rewards are genuinely not worth it

The options are Endo, mods, isoplasts, weapon BPs and Caliban BPs. Of those you generally only need 1 of the BPs (or 2 for the frame if you wanna helminth it), and 1 of the mods. Isoplasts you need a fair few of for crafting but after that, not really. Sure you can trade them for rep with a couple of factions, but generally they've been around long enough that people should have everything they need from them. Endo is almost always useful, but you get vastly more doing Deimos bounties where you also have a shot at other stuff like amber stars/aya/kuva etc

Verglas comes with the Nautilus, not the Oxylus and it's 75 not 50, (but does come with 2 installed potatoes and two slots which are worth like 50p anyway). Also bless the retards on warframe.market trying to sell the parts for more than the market version costs. That being said the Verglas is surprisingly powerful, the downside is shooting still appears to draw aggro and get your sentinel killed. I mostly use mine on my actual Oxylus to take care of mobs while I'm mining/fishing. For actual higher level stuff (I'm about to jump into steel path), I think i'll use one of the cats or dogs since they can at least be be revived. I just really, really wish DE would add a universal vaccuum to frames so I don't have to rely on my generally easily killable pet (not to mention wasting one of their mod slots) to loot in my looter shooter game

just do Protea Prime already.
I can't wait. One of the best overall frames and just a blast to play. I spam grenades and turrets the entire mission and it feels so good. Herr new skin just needs to come out and I am back on Warframe.

I was going to get back into it with the New War stuff. But appearantly they had the bright idea to lock the content behind the Necramech and in doing so its forcing me to grind endlessly for parts and its going to take me at least a week or two to get it.

At this point I'm already ready to drop this game.

Don't grind the negromech for new snore. Do it because voidrig comes with a fucking pocket AA gun.

So with the recent Veilbreaker update there have been nerfs to AOE weapons in general and more specifically, Wukong's twin. Now that you might actually have to aim a little, certain players haven't taken too kindly.

Turn off your language filter and what do you see?

Oh my, what's this? Turns out the Chinese aren't too keen on the only piece of culture they're allowed to have being nerfed, nor are they happy about the most meta weapons being made even slightly harder to use.

It seems Steam's automated review-bombing prevention hasn't kicked in yet so you can still look at the negative reviews of a million pissed off bugmen. It's not all negative though: One reviewer added an ASCII drawing of his favorite food:

They also have nezha.

Also, to be fair wukong literally let you go straight up afk for half an hour, the nerfs aren't that severe, it just uses ammo and does half damage done, but half of 50 oneshots is still oneshoting and as far as ammo goes just give it an ignis wraith.

At least they undid the shedu nerfs.

Or just do what I did and sell the VAST RESERVES of prime parts you have for autistically grinding void missions for hundreds of forma. Did the same for voidrigs. Fuck both mechanics.

Hey Tenno Kiwis, has anyone ever seen this border on streams?

20221014_180452.jpg

It came up randomly in the thread for the horrorcow Cyrax. The stream it's from was uploaded 2 days ago, and by all accounts that's when it streamed.

Searching for a similar username gave me a random rhino user, and I don't think it's this guy.

My autism is kicking in something fierce, and I want to know if something like a streaming program applied that banner automatically, because there's no mention of Warframe in the thread at all.

Also, how are y'all liking the crossplay? It's made region chat more funny imho

At least on PC crossplay seems relatively stable, but to be fair when I rarely do play it's mostly solo and I am debating whether or not to drop Warframe entirely. The most interesting part of crossplay was seeing if there were any observable differences between PC and console players; in my games, XBox players were a lot more likely to run/dash everywhere instead of emulating a springboard and were overall less mobile. They also tended to go AFK more and died more often than PC players during Archon Hunts.

Get these fucking xbox NIGGERS out of my game immediately. They're so slow I could've been done with another mission by the time I get to extract.
I've noticed that too! I think it's because the button inputs can be a bit wonky on controllers. I played on the Switch some, and I remember being annoyed that I couldn't aimglide to get Gara's wall higher. For some reason the input to put up her 4 would cancel the glide.

I just never understood how people can play these types of games without KB+M. Bullet jumping is practically one of warframe's defining features and is the biggest reason the game's mobility feels so free.

I picked up the game again and I kept thinking "Man this game is dead" since I couldn't seem to get a party on free roam maps and the relays were empty/got no option to select relay instance. Changed my region to north america and began seeing players again
