Obligatory Zootopia Thread

I'm posting this on the basis that @Trilby seems to like Zootopia fan comics and this person makes a ton of them.

Whether you turn off the nsfw filter is up to you, but most of it isn't porn from what I remember.
Thanks for the suggestion, though not necessary the sort of comics I was interested in personally, but people do have their interests.

The earlier idea with the shock collars was pretty interesting, but I can understand why they would drop it. Can you imagine taking a kid to that, nevermind the parents' reactions?

And good god. I didn't know who that Laci chick was before this thread, but it's like she didn't even watch the movie. More like she read someone's post on tumblr. (Also she got BH6's message wrong, but let's not get off-topic here.)

Judy herself was prejudiced, and her little break-up with Nick was a way of her waking up to the fact that she had biases like everyone else. She may not have been malicious in it like the villain, but it was there and there's a possibility she wouldn't have realized it otherwise. And speaking of the villain, I feel like they could've done more with them*. The movie touched on the thought process of those who think that just because they're "oppressed" that means they're totally justified in being racist, but it could've touched more on those who legitimately think their race is superior or even going further into the whole "I'm oppressed so I can't be racist" mindset. Granted, on a rewatch there's plenty of foreshadowing, much like in Frozen.

*just to be courteous to those who haven't seen the movie

Oh I bet. I would loved exploring this theme further as well.

I finally saw Zootopia yesterday. I really enjoyed it! I was kind of taken aback at how blatant the racism allegories were, though. I mean, I know, it's for kids and kids suck at picking up subtlety, but my jaw dropped when they actually threw in a reference to n-word privileges (apparently, bunnies can call other bunnies cute, but it's offensive when anyone else does it).

I am absolutely in love with the fact that the main villain's goal was to start a fucking race war. That's so amazing. I couldn't stop thinking about Tyce and the race war van, lol. RACE WAR NOW.

At least you got something out of it!

Also, the home release of the movie was today if people wanted sperging about extra features on that.
Apparently the best edition out there so far is the Target exclusive BluRay+DVD combo that only adds on 15 more minutes of cast interviews and deleted clips to what is already provided for the "Ultimate Collectors Edition" (which otherwise gives you the 3D version of the film as well). Sadly no commentary track by the directors. A lot of these bonus features have already landed on YouTube anyway.

And while we're at it

Well, it happened...

Didn't expect to hear the word "butthole".

Probably a good call on that one.

If only that full movie was higher quality. :sigh:

They do look pretty obnoxious.

At the same time, it's nice we still had Finnick at all for the time he was on screen.

They're supposed to be gerbils.

There's PutLocker if you don't mind the load times. They have it in 720p.
We know what furry deviants do with gerbils..

I still find it funny the movie Disney didn't expect to be much became the highest rated, second highest grossing and one of best movies of 2016. They hardly marketed it and it made a billion, imagine if they would have put effort into the marketing.

On another note, one of these movie nights is this movie gonna be played?

Who knows. We already played it a few months back when the "telesync" copy showed up.

They look like the lemmings from the popsicle bit.
I'm sure it wasn't that hard to cut off the tails on those models and stick them in suits for that. Many deleted characters from earlier drafts found secondary use as other characters in the finished film like the honey badger that used to be Nick's friend now repositioned as a doctor at that hideout.

A fan's cover of "Try Everything" if done in the style of a 1950's rock & roll legend...
