She said "he would marry" which vernacular wise indicates (to me) that he could still marry, is free to do so. That they aren't married and she is well aware of it. I could be full of shit also which is always a strong possibility.
I think she meant "he would have married" but the Present Perfect verb tense is largely beyond her intellectual capabilities. This is something I've been tracking. This is just like how she says "I seen" instead of "I have seen" On a related note, she also doesn't seem to know what adverbs are and how they are used.
Way back in 2017-2018, she didn't necessarily have this problem. She was never particularly articulate, but she used the present perfect tense properly (adverbs have always been beyond her). I even made a post about it back then. Amberlynn, Becky, and Amy have never used it properly, which is why we get such uncomfortable constructions as "I have ate" from them. I actually gave Clotso credit for using it correctly. At the time, I was using this as a yardstick of intelligence (and I still do, to some extent). Sometime in 2019, Chantal started to change, and since 2020 she (to the best of my knowledge) has never used present perfect again. Why not? I dunno, it could be a symptom of deteriorating brain function, but I think it is possible she started doing it as a kind of affect (it was during her "tough girl/bad girl" phase) and it just stuck with her.
The part of the quote that is noteworthy is the part that says "
a devout Muslim". This is immune from bad grammar; it is a tacit admission that she is
not a devout Muslim. The question remains whether or not it is an admission that she isn't
Muslim or isn't
devout. Insofar as she believes she is a Muslim, she sees herself as a modern, enlightened reformed Muslim, free to pick and choose the tenets of Islam that she wishes to follow. Incidentally, there are
no tenets of Islam that she follows, but there are many that she willfully disregards. So
any Muslim, even the most depraved and disobedient one, is still more devout than her. But she doesn't see it that way.
No, Salah doesn't want a devout Muslim who prays five times a day, adheres to fasting, conforms to gender roles, and all the rest. He wants
this kind of Muslim, one who probably has never even heard of Prophet Muhammad, stuffs her yob with forbidden food, needlessly euthanizes animals, has a filthier vocabulary than a 19th century sailor, won't set foot in a mosque, won't even touch her fancy "kra'an", burps and farts loudly, has zero respect for law, and never bathes. If he had wanted a devout Muslim, he would have married one!
