You can’t just assume that trans people will know what to do, especially as trans individuals are usually self absorbed and unable to understand how other people feel about their “dysphoria” and “transition”.

You can't, because YOU understand that trans is not the end all be all of life, that transitioning isn't a spiritual awakening. They don't. I think that was actually Boner’s main point of contention with the tranch, after he got some perspective. His mistake was thinking that Alyssa was in any way qualified to provide that and wouldn’t just compound the problems.

The only thing she was qualified to do was cook and clean, which actually would have helped slightly with mental state but not with responsibility or anything else. I'm shivering with disgust at the idea that she tries to heal anyone else like she did Paul, aka let them cry on her then fuck them constantly.

It would be bad enough if Alyssa was just trying to shield them from prosecution and other people they may try to rent land from, but the fact that there is a clearly widespread attitude that trans people should not face investigation from authorities is doing them far more harm than good.

An observation I've personally made is that after being online or in a social circle of people you're used to, you can get more uneasy meeting and talking with others. You suddenly realize you're not safe from social embarrassment and people might think you're dumb or give you shit just because they feel like it, so it's easier to minimize those confrontations with strangers and only be in areas with people you know out of anxiety.
