In Japan, women are only allowed by law to work as titty dancers, callgirls and secretaries, so the idea of a "female protagonist" is clearly shocking and horrifying to him.

If we actually played things sensibly know what'd be a pretty good female protagonist?

Especially considering the current game is all about the fucking Sheikah. There's some degree of sensibleness to the basic idea of "Mayyyybe we could do this?"

You could have different playstyles or, as Zelda games are traditionally somewhat linear, legit stealth sections and a Sheik subplot/storyline.

They were more ninja style people after all, so that'd actually be pretty neat and a good possible changeup.

Or hell, let's go the whole hog and have co-op.

The WiiU has that second screen thing on the controllers, so one could play a more stealthy game on that, while you "main" as Link on your TV. I noticed the HUD has a sound indicator on the bottom right after all, so stealth is going to play a part in this one.

But yeah, SJW tardation comes into it yet again and demand the whole world bend to their whims instead of trying to come about the awesome ideas more naturally.

As for the game itself as it stands? Holy crap I want it, I want it bad. I want it as soon as it comes out. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TELL US WHEN WE CAN HAVE IT.

I've never been a big LoZ fan, but this game looks good. The only real complaint I have about it is the fact that it's on the Wii-U, I absolutely hate the wii-mote gimmick. Other than that though, yeah, this one looks damn good.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but wasn't there some rumor about the next Zelda game having somebody else as the protagonist instead of Link? I don't mean Linkle, I mean like Sheik or possibly Ganon and how he rose to power.

New Nier: Automata trailer, and holy cow does this game look gorgeous. Beautiful designs, fantastic music, fast-paced combat...boy, I wish they had played this at the Sony conference yesterday, but this looks really excellent.
Not surprising, it's by Platinum. They're damn good at making balls-to-the-walls action games. I'm really looking forward to it.

There looks to be some really nice lineups for Platinum games. Hopefully those games make good profits on their release dates :x

You'll be able to play with the Pro Controller

CRASH BANDICOOT REMASTER HYPE TRAIN

GET THE FUCK IN

They better not fuck this up. I love the entire trilogy. But Crash Bandicoot: Warped is without a doubt, my favorite game ever made. (and this is coming from someone who is a die hard Nintendo fan since the day he first picked up a controller at 4 years old)

Warped will definitely be the most looked forward game to see it being remastered

Trials of the Blood Dragon looks interesting.
Personally, I'm a bit disappointed that the previously hinted sequel to Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon turned out to be an almost unrelated platformer - I expected the new game to be more like the previous one. Maybe I'll change my mind after I play it, but I don't have high expectations.

EDIT: Just downloaded it and played for a while - oh my goodness; it's so, so awful.

Christ almighty, the amount of entitled whiny butthurt over no female Link.

That wouldn't be enough to please the whiners I know. They demand not simply a female Link, but no option for a male Link. That's why Linkle didn't please them. Because she's a separate person, which means Link still exists, and is still male.

Triggered
.

They'd have been happy if her name was Link, and there was no male option.

Actually, no, they'd probably still bitch because female Link wasn't born male or something. There's no way to win with these types.

After seeing one of the trailers so far, all I have to say is press 1 for parkour!

So I've been trying to find information on Resident Evil 7 as it's peaked my interest, despite the comparisons to Amnesia there will be guns but nothing "heavy" like in the more recent Resident Evil games. Also herbs will be back and supposedly no quick-time events in the game also. Another little tidbit:

"The game is set after Resident Evil 6 "in modern day", and features all-new characters. Some of the horror occurs within an abandoned house."

It sounds like they're going for a soft reboot of the franchise.

I only really opened this thread because I wanted to see the updated reveal stuff for the new Mass Effect.

Having watched the thoroughly unenlightening video, the only thing that I've taken away from it is that I already hate the Asari they put in there, because she's got the goofiest fucking smile I've ever had the misfortune to witness. Either they want people to stop obsessing over the race of magical blue lesbians, or they decided that a trans character wasn't enough, so they're putting in a special needs one, too. This being Bioware, my money's on the second option.

Of course, this doesn't change the fact that I'm probably definitely going to buy it still, because I'm a total Mass Effect whore.

I feel the only reason Andromeda exists was to make up for shitting the bed with ME3's ending, and Bioware cracking under the entitled A-Log manbabies who couldn't move on. I don't feel like there was any passion to it.

Sad to see it's still JUST that.

After six proved such a bloody disaster (and Revelations proved the more traditional R:E stuff made money) Capcom announced they were going to do "some sort" of reboot. It seems to borrow very heavily from the influences P.T had on the horror gaming genre and thanks to Konami being suicidal in the gaming market by cancelling Silent Hills and winding up Kojima Studios they have the field.

Speaking of Kojima; The trailer to his first new game under Sony.

Death Stranding:

The thing to note with some amusement is it seems Kojima wasn't the only one burned by the cancellation and treatment. It seems he struck up a genuine and warm friendship with Norman Reedus who posted the following to Instagram:

That makes me wonder whether or not it'll affect the remakes of 2 (and possibly 3).

Gotta admit, that's quite a change for God of War. I'll be interested to see if they can make me care about Kratos as a character.
So am I. I seem to recall that the original plan was to have Kratos fight and kill off other pantheons and gods (specifically norse and egyptian) but that idea got scrapped for one reason of another. I guess with this new game they might be going with a similar idea. Maybe not with killing other gods, but instead training various legendary heroes (the rumors going around that the boy is possibly Sigurd).
