Doubtful. The pro-war parties are the neocons in the State Department and the woke interns who run the Biden White House. I know it's hard to tell, and needs reading the runes, but looking at some of the WP stories (mouthpiece of the CIA) and the Nord Stream leaks the American glowies want this to end as they, rightly, view the war as unwinnable. From what I've seen the NATO and American advisors on the ground have been urging the Ukrainians to GTFO of Bakhmut for weeks and have been ignored.

I still can't believe that the Ukrainians are actually throwing reinforcements into the meat grinder. It can't be real, they must be there to cover a retreat surely?

What the fuck is so important about Bakhmut in the first place? Is there some strategic significance to it other than just being more land to capture?

This is their defensive line. There are secondary and tertiary lines, but they aren't as well built as Bakhmut and Adviivka. This is it for the AFU.
Even if they withdrew and wanted to mount a spring/summer offensive, the Russians would be up their ass and putting so much pressure on the rear defensive lines (presuming they don't break through....which they likely will) that the AFU would piss away their manpower plugging holes in the line

Theory on why Zelensky is slaughtering the Ukes (other than the other reasons stated) - Z is a puppet; and if you are a European puppeteer that has seen the writing on the wall and want to wrap this up - what do? They can't tell Ukraine in the open to surrender, Z also fears declaring surrender and getting lynched. Maybe they want to bleed Ukraine white faster (perhaps even subconsciously, I think a lot of this shit is more emotional and less coordinated than people think) so that it's over faster and they can surrender while "saving face".

Ukraine is just the arena where larger interests are fighting around this central question:

Are we in a unipolar or multipolar world aka can powers other than the US assert their will in the world? That's what this conflict is about and it's why neither side can afford to blink.

ATGM are one of the most valuable weapons on the battlefield since 2011, moreso than rifles. Its very common for ATGM to be used to reduce fortifications, plenty of video going back to the Syrian Civil War where they fire the missile and it flies into a window of a building a kilometer away, blowing out most of the room.

Tanks aren't the major dictator of conflicts any longer because of them and the pairing of drone observation with artillery. They're not entirely obsolete but their role is extremely limited and little more than a cannon that can be rolled around to reduce structures. They're become more what the French envisioned them in the run up to WW2 than the classic Blitzkrieg style usage that most people ascribe to them. The idea of "tank" is not obsolete, its just the Main Battle Tank is, the future is Infantry Fighting Vehicles like the Bradley or BMP.
