So we did end up grilling with my husband's friend on Saturday. They got married only a couple of months ago and his wife doesn't work so finances are tight for them, so we got way more food than 5 people needed and ''forgot'' the leftovers and raw ingredients in their fridge. My husband made them burgers, but I wasn't in the mood for those and wanted a reason to give them more food, so we also picked up jalapeno sausages and a bunch of vegetables. Hopefully it'll help them stay afloat with a bit more comfort than like, ramen and occasional pork chops, and hopefully they didn't see through our game and really do think we forgot to get the leftovers because we didn't want to wound his pride or dignity.
Sunday, we picked up two sushi boxes- $15 per box for a salad, miso soup, rice, 5 pieces of vegetable tempura, one roll, and 5 pieces of sashimi. I make our own sushi relatively often, but it was nice to have the variety of sashimi and a day to just relax, and I feel like the price is set very fairly.
Today, we're making homemade pizzas, the dough has been fermenting and I'll probably make two- one with mozzarella and bruschetta for the kids, and one with grated Grand Cru, mixed olive tapenade, and anchovies for us.
