What puts a really foul taste in my mouth here is that I can't hardly watch old Zero Punctuation without randomly stumbling on tranny jokes, and now he acts so self-righteous.

Unless Youtube decided to give people the ability to screw with the likes and dislikes, I think the sudden jump is on your end.Video's up on Youtube now. Started off with 700 dislikes to 1.7k likes, but has somehow changed to 2.8k likes and 200ish dislikes since then. Anybody else seen something like that or is it just Return Youtube Dislikes fucking up somehow?
To be honest, I'm not shocked about mo likes than dislikes, Yahtzee's fans are hardcore sheep and will agree with anything he says.Unless Youtube decided to give people the ability to screw with the likes and dislikes, I think the sudden jump is on your end.
you dont understand how wizards and magic is dumb shit for nerds but a gun that says plumbus in star wars land is wholesome epic chunguslol, he sounds so mad compered to his other video's. he says he review the games on its own merit but i cant help but to feel the bias. he gave games like far cry 5 and assassins' creeds Valhalla less shit for doing the same stuff Hogwarts legacy dose, and both game series has done it for years.
he also did the "its a game about magic and wizard, how original and stupid" stick. the same thing Jim sterling did in his video. Harry potter was far from the being the first of its kind but it was the series that brought magic and wizards back into popularity. you faggots love stuff like DND, fantasy and sci-fi novels but you will shit on people, calling them nerds for liking books about magic and wizards? get fucked.
Actually, here is one irony about Dominic Noble.I couldn't stand Dominic Noble because adaptation studies are retarded to begin with, but he doesn't either go deeply into the actual adaptation issues like how do you convey the essence of x, or the contextual issues such as production, author intent etc. so I find his videos very unsatisfying.
I can't believe Yahtzee and the Escapist spent more time attacking a British woman because they were told so by mentally ill men in dresses than commenting on war crimes. Sad.
In his book differently morphous he has a character that legit is the ultimate social justice warrior and shits on her 24/7.I thought Jam was his best book, mogworld was alright the others were a bit of a slog.
Not hugely surprised by his retarded jkr take given he was mates with Jim the fat tranny and all that crowd.
A story about wizards and magic - it's rip off of some games like .... uh? ... and um? ...he also did the "its a game about magic and wizard, how original and stupid" stick. the same thing Jim sterling did in his video. I just find it funny, that this argument is the same one Jimbo was peddling back for years, and his started with also the live service shit AND his whole debacle with that game company that put out cheap and crappy games on steam.Disappointed that Yahtzee hinges much of his argument in his new video on the "video game crash of 1983", which is a myth. How is it that even people who's literal job is to talk about video games continue to fall for bullshit narratives like this?
In Yahtzee's case it's even worse because he's a bong, and the video game crash fable only makes sense if you know nothing about the 80s video game market outside of the United States. Who the fuck did you know who even owned an NES at the time, Ben?
Is it really a "Myth" or just overstated? Sure, it wasn't international and it only lasted a couple of years but the US console industry screwed itself with oversaturation. I think it's as silly to say that the narrative is entirely wrong as it is to say that vidya died until Nintendo came in with a Deus ex machina.Disappointed that Yahtzee hinges much of his argument in his new video on the "video game crash of 1983", which is a myth. I wouldn't trust him on that front these days. He's become extremely political. Even if he was a shitlib before as you say he generally kept it low-key.Actually, here is one irony about Dominic Noble.
While I dislike the whole "adaptation" thing, I ave actually had fun with his videos where he just.... reviews (really summarizes) books. Just books, that don't even have a movie attached to them or anything. That time he reviewed four Amish romance novels for example, or the Timothy Zahn Cobra series.
Part of the reason is actually the same reason I still sometimes dig people like Linkara and recently have started to like JRPG reviewers/summarizers.... I have an interest in reading but its such a time-consuming activity (that my brain seems to be having a harder time with as I get older, often resulting in me quitting) that its actually easier on me to just listen to some fuckboy on Youtube summarize it while making jokes about the more nonsensical elements. And in the case of authors like Timothy Zahn, I would never have read his shit anyway.
So basically I kinda wish Dominic Noble would pivot from being an "adaptation analyst" to just being a guy who summarizes some random books he read (well, actually by his own admission he usually listens to the audio book because he apparently has dyslexia). He would legit be more worthwhile that way.
The story I've always heard is that it's kinda-sorta a myth. Gaming CONSOLES were at an all-time low but arcades were surviving and personal computers like the Commodore 64 were doing just fine. But since a lot of gamers are console-tards (and moreover, Nintendo tards) they tend to only know the "gaming got big again when the NES came around" part.Is it really a "Myth" or just overstated? Sure, it wasn't international and it only lasted a couple of years but the US console industry screwed itself with oversaturation. I think it's as silly to say that the narrative is entirely wrong as it is to say that vidya died until Nintendo came in with a Deus ex machina.
Also, I'm hardly a prude but I'm still not comfortable with a man repeatedly calling a woman a cunt. What puts a really foul taste in my mouth here is that I can't hardly watch old Zero Punctuation without randomly stumbling on tranny jokes, and now he acts so self-righteous.

Well, its not like Jim was wrong. There's only so much time in a day you can devote to a game and that varies by person. In the realm of online games server health keeps people interested and leads to "natural monopolies" in the same way that social media works best when you are on a big site with all your friends. Thus a world where everyone tries to make live service/GaaS games will result in far fewer games being able to exist at any one time.I just find it funny, that this argument is the same one Jimbo was peddling back for years, and his started with also the live service shit AND his whole debacle with that game company that put out cheap and crappy games on steam.
