Yeah but the angry outbursts seem random and sudden. And, of course, forced and unnatural. His scream also just seems more shrill, like he's putting too much into it, he's an over actor.

He's getting older, and considering how much he's fucked up his voice over the years, it's taken a toll on his vocal chords.

His Final Fight video has an obvious audio edit where in his huge scream, it's just a normal sounding scream that sounds like it was recorded at a different time. It's clear that he can't do those natural outburst reactions like he can in say Dick Tracy or the Batman games when he freaked the fuck out about the MK-ripoff SNES one.

Lmao he skipped right over discussing Cheetamen and didn't even acknowledge it. Still it's a great overview of working on AVGN, I like how just some random superchat sent him on a 2 and half hour long history lesson as well, guy got his money's worth.

I hate to praise a redditor but that was well said. James perfectly captured the anger you felt as a kid playing a frustratingly hard game or just a terrible game and he/Mike did so well at building up to it layer by layer: first the music is terrible, graphics are questionable, controls are delayed or bizarre or cryptic, game is cryptic for these reasons, I can't even beat the first level, there's no passwords AND WHY ARE THERE NO CONTINUES WHY>???????!

I know that pain, man. It brings me right back to renting Battletoads and getting stuck on Turbo Tunnels.

I just started watching Mike's stream and it's already telling. He begins by saying that he and James would play the games and figure out what would make a good episode. Now, compare to this BTS/episode:


Not one mention of Mike picking the games or playing them with him... Wow.

HE DIDN"T EVEN PLAY DR> JEKYLL AND MR> HYDE AS A CHILD! IT WAS FUCKING MIKE WHO SHOWED HIM THE GAME!

Mike was among the first to call out the BS with the Cheetahmen Kickstarter that James filmed a little 2 minute video to promote. It was most likely Mike that talked James into distancing himself and removing the video.

It's kind of funny that just a random guy asks him to make a video for his Kickstarter for a game he covered and he did it.
