General GunTuber thread

So what's going on with the XM5/7? I saw a video by some fucking redneck claiming it was being dropped but literally the only people talking about it is said redneck and the article he was quoting.

I came across that video in my recommended feed as well. Utter fucking horse shite IMO, the "article" he's quoting is a fucking opinion piece by a fucking rando consultant, and even quotes a fucking In-Range TV as proof it fails mud tests.

I guess everyone even close to that sphere of interest got the same video.

It seemed dubiously sourced and at the end he was talking about how the introduction of the M5/7 was a gun grab which was certainly eyebrow raising.

By that logic the change from 30-06 to 308 was a gun grab/308 to 556 was a gun grab.

Also aren't the sig spears currently available for purchase by civvies and the ammo, while hard to find, is also fully available?

Hell I've been comtemplating an EOtech VUDU or the sig TANGO6T 1-6x24 mm.

The video seems very ill-conceived at best.

It's still getting adopted, Weighs like 14lbs when fully outfitted but still getting adopted.

That fucking redneck is CRS Firearms, known retard and gay methhead cosplayer. some of my first posts on this site detail how much of a fucking retard that faggot is (retard literally got himself into serious legal trouble because he was too retarded to not blatantly advertise *wink-wink* totally not MG conversion devices for AR's)

For something a bit more verifiable and tangible, here's Duelist1954 asking for donations for legal fees as he claims the city/county/municipality/whatever is trying to fuck him.

Thoughts?

Hah, imagine PTR or someone buying that tooling and then putting out some nice clones of the 5.56mm and 7.62mm rifles.
He doesn't/can't live on the property and is using it primarily as a shooting range. His lawyer should be the one giving him advice, and it shouldn't cost 10k from a gofundme. Also if he's making any income from his YouTube videos that are most likely shot on the property... well.

Hey guys, I'm not a big guns person and this is probably way off-topic but I wanted to ask anyway, so I'll make this quick.
I know Paul Harrell personally, and I also know someone who desperately needs a kidney (no it's not Paul). Waiting lists are long, this person won't live long enough to get one, and no one he knows is a viable donator. If one of you would be willing to donate a kidney, I'd be more than happy to set up a meeting between you, Paul, and some of the crew. If you're interested (and since I don't want to shit up the thread even more), please send me a private message about it.
As proof that I actually do know Paul, his next video is about why hollow points fail to expand. It'll also be out Sunday instead of Thursday.
Nice try FBI.

Considering that Winchester won a bid to build a whole new manufacturing plant at Lake City for 6.8x51, for good or bad the 6.8 train is full steam ahead.

What's wrong with them? Did they ruin it with unhealthy lifestyle, or is it a natural thing?
I guess you could call it a natural thing. He was poisoned a while ago which damaged it, but he only went into renal failure after getting a serious illness more recently. He lives a healthy lifestyle generally and he's got a really strong constitution; you wouldn't be able to tell he's been in end-stage renal failure for a few years now unless he told you. His doctors think he's a good candidate for recieving a transplant and that it would last him another 15 or so years despite his age.

Tell Paul to aim for the head next time he goes into the woods, that should get your friend a kidney in no time.

It's cool to see Ian do a different version of a gun he's already done, especially to look a tthe weird differences between the two.

It's a very informative episode and I can absolutely see why no one will ever make a mass market version of this gun, although I don't think anyone will ever top my favorite Forgotten Weapons moment of all time from the original FG42 review where he straight up tells his audience "You can't afford this gun".

Does he have his own thread or something?

Look, I'm going to assume you're a good natured person who's a little naïve so here's some advice:

you're on KF, no one who is mentally sane is going to IRL doxx themselves which would be a necessity for what you're describing.

If what you're saying is true, here's some advice:

  1. Get a legitimate story put out somewhere about the person and their need: focus on what a good moral Christian they are, how much they give to their community, how much they take care of their family/friends/etc. Ideally get it written up in a local newspaper, but the lowest you could get away with is a Facebook post on someone's IRL account. Don't mention Paul or any "you can meet e-celeb" in it because it sounds weird and cringe as fuck.
  2. If you're actually besties with Paul, get him and everyone that owes him a favor to signal boost the post as much as possible in the normie world.
  3. Hope for the best.

Lol Germany couldn't afford that gun!

Incidentally the reason it existed is because German parachutes were cheap, single riser types, based on an Italian design which they misunderstand the concept behind (the italian parachute was intended for aircrew escaping). It was extremely dangerous to use, opened violently, and it was less that it 'could be' used at low altitude than it 'couldn't' be used at high altitude.

In typical Herman Goering Fashion instead of replacing the chutes after Crete, he declared low opening was essential, and instead decided on a new weapon.

Also I'm really curious as to how the FG42 was actually trialed during jumps, I have a suspicion the Fallschirmjäger would still have left them in the weapons canisters.

Does he have his own thread or something?
No, he's innocuous and inoffensive all around, slightly dorky, but not in any offputting way. If you like old guns and blackpowder, he has some nice content, and he has written some good turtorials on handloading for some rags, digital and physical.

People have doxed themselves or heavily powerleveled for a lot less, I figured if nothing else it's worth a shot, the worst thing that could happen is some negative post ratings. Guy who needs a kidney doesn't make for a good heart-pulling story - he's kind of a shut-in that keeps to himself without a ton of family or friends. He doesn't have much of an online presence to speak of, the neighborhood isn't super familiar with him, there isn't a lot to say that could get someone to donate an organ randomly. He's a veteran but there's lots of those, he has a family but so does practically everyone, he loves his pets but so do most people who have one. I can't really think of an angle that would work for him, but thank you for trying to help.

So you're telling the truth, why not get Paul to signal boost this?
I'm not sure exactly how to explain it... I just don't think Paul would go for it. He's the kind of guy who leaves a hundred dollar bill as a tip wherever he goes, I think he'd feel as though asking makes him or his friend a charity case or a couple of grifters, and he really wouldn't like that. I could probably twist his arm into doing it, but he wouldn't be happy about it and I'm worried it would damage our friendship. I've known him literally my whole life and he's like an uncle to me, I don't want him thinking I just want to use him for money or attention or something like that now that he's somewhat Internet famous. Yeah, in a way I'm doing that by asking here, but going rogue to be a retard on the Internet is different than begging him to ask for charity directly from his YouTube audience.

@Scarlet Imperial
If you've known Paul & been close for that long, he doesn't strike me as one who'll immediately think you're into a grift, or kick you to the curb for asking.

Just tell him about your friend who legit needs a kidney & why; then ask if he has any ideas. Don't mention anything about fundraising; if anything, just ask if he knows anyone in the medical world who can help find the resources. If the need is legit (and you can prove it), you shouldn't get dinged for trying to help someone.

And now for something completely different:

The next guntube crossover with another greaseball Floridaman.
