Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

Woah this site is wild. It even has details on kills, winnings, etc. Not just pedigrees. Even that is flaunting the brutality.

It’s a really good source of information. These are the dogs that were considered the best of the best. Lots of random tidbits like that scattered all over the place.

Wild canine don't even hunt like this from my knowledge. This isn't survival, this isn't natural, this is just pure monster antics. Typically wild canine will aim for the shoulder, neck, and sometimes the hind/legs to pull it down. Going for the head can be a death sentence depending on what they are hunting due to horns, being in attack path, etc. This was to attack just because it can, not because it was hungry. Just brutal.

Shit bull messes with the wrong breed. I think it's a Himalayan Mastiff. Not entirely sure though.

Your words are proven right here. Shitbull goes for the face, good boy goes for the neck.

It also look like Himalayan Mastiff goes for the submission/choke out instead of trying to rip out the shitbulls throat (which it seems it could have). There isn't a gallon of blood plastered all over it snout like you would see from shitbull attacks.

Shit bull fucked around and found out from a 14/10 gud floofy boi

And yes gud floof wasn't trying to kill or shit bull would have been spraying blood urrywhere

At the end I think the pibble was still alive. Floofy Boi was showing the idiot he was in charge but the pit kept fighting back. Note how the mastiff immediately let go when the owner grabbed him.

Yeah it was still alive, floof just grabbed, pinned, and shook. It didn't have the ideal grip for a throat tear but it was more than good enough to do that if floof had wanted to

Just in the first 20 seconds it shows you a pretty good contrast between a well trained dog and a shitbull (trained or not). Shitbull is right up in the Mastiffs face, A HOLLERIN', and the mastiff largely doesn't give a shit until it starts trying to attack.

Then right at the end when it's clear who the winner was, the mastiff just goes back to his "business as usual" stance, instead of trying to maul the peanut brained little shit to death.

But pibbys are just so misunderstood, guise!

That's a Tibetan Mastiff, and they've been bred for thousands of years to protect their families and flocks. Hell, even wolves are scared of these guys, so that shitbull really fucked around with the wrong dog.

Still, it appears that the mastiff was trying to establish dominance and teach the shitbull some manners more than anything else. If the Mastiff really wanted to kill him, that shitbull would be dead as a doornail. (Their bite pressure is estimated to be 550 PSI.)

For such a formidable dog, they're incredibly lovey dovey with their families though.

I'd like to think Mister Cuddle Mittens learned something from this, but we all know that is not the case.
You know that pitbull owner went home and either tried to call the police on the big fluffy love mutt for "attacking their dog" or immediately made a social media post about how their poor pitbull got attacked and didn't even hurt the other dog cause "pibbles are uwu soft nanny dogs" or some nonsense

To put it out there, carnivorous animals in the wild are nothing like Pibbles. Canines notably don't waste energy picking fights with more powerful opponents. They attack to kill, and kill to eat and survive.
I'm all for spreading Tibetian Mastiff propaganda. They're like giant teddy bears that will save your life. 💓

The animal shelter that I volunteer used to not have many pitbull, but after relocating to a different, larger facility, it seems like 49 out of 50 dogs are pitbull mixes. There wasn't constant barking before they moved; now with the pitbulls it's loud, constant barking. These dogs lunge at the door of their kennel. Staff calls it "barrier aggression". The dogs still act wild when you walk into their kennel, trying to grab at your clothes and jump all over you, unlike non-pits who display barrier aggression and then become docile once you enter.

I tried walking a few of these dogs in a hiking park. One they claimed was getting 'mouthy' but reality is this fucker wants to chew your fucking arm off and is pushing his boundaries to learn how much one person can take. I literally have to step on the leash and walk until my foot is connecting with the collar on the ground to get him to release, basically choking him. These bites are painful and I have to wear kevlar arm sleeves to prevent anything more than dark bruising. These dogs are going to murder someone one day. The longer they're kept in the kennels without a great way to release their energy (sniffing is the best mental activity for a dog but pitbulls are not especially keen on sniffing), they become more anxious and 'aggressive'. I've met one pit who acted calmly, and it was because she was abused to the point where she basically shut down to the outside world.

I don't know what changed with the directing of what dogs get accepted, but it's all pits now. They choose what dogs come in (they have someone who evaluates the personality/temperament of the dogs). It used to be that most dogs were labeled green (all volunteers can handle)with a few yellow (volunteer teens can't handle them) and only one blue (special training required for a volunteer to handle). Now, there is only one dog with the green label (non-pit), all other dogs are yellow and over half are blue or red (only staff can handle, usually due to biting).

It's gotten to the point where I've stopped volunteering to handle the dogs. I mess only with the cats now. At least a cat will warn you before they attack. Fuck my shelter for doing this.

Enjoy the newspeak designed expressly for pits at your local shelter. Just wait until they start talking about stupid shit like breeding them, which is meant as some kind of retarded thought exercise, but is probably a thing they’d love to do.

I‘ve never worked in a shelter that wasn't at least 80% pit. Shelters used to be great places to volunteer. Now they’re stressful as fuck and more work than a real job. Stopped bothering about four years back.

Almost every shelter around me just calls pits "mixed breed" anymore. They always list the "mixed breeds" as being loving, family dogs, etc. Meanwhile the actual mixed breeds are all labeled by their closest guesstimate i.e. shepherd, hound, terrier, etc. They try to pawn off these hell spawns to unsuspecting people, people with a family. It's put a very foul taste in my mouth about most animal shelters, which is a shame because there are many good boys and girls that deserved to be given a proper home.

It's changed my mind about buying from private breeders, used to despise them since there was always dogs in the shelter. Now I have 0 qualms about going through one.

The good news is you can get your next snuggle bunny of a family dog for $25 in L.A. this week. archive

Isn't Saint Patrick famous for exterminating dangerous animals? I can think of a better way to honor him.

"He dindu nuffin!"

Remember this story from a couple of weeks ago? Here's the wife of the shitbag owner, and a follow up article in the NY Post, detailing how these shitbags were breeding and purposely trained their dogs to be extra aggro.

San Antonio couple trained dogs ‘with meat to be aggressive’ before fatal mauling of 81-year-old

The San Antonio couple whose two dogs allegedly mauled an elderly man to death had “used meat to train their dogs to be aggressive,” documents show.

Christian Alexander Moreno and wife Abilene Schnieder were arrested after their American Staffordshire terriers killed Air Force veteran Ramon Najera, 81, last week.

Najera died shielding his wife from the charging animals. She and two other men were injured in the attack, but have since been released from the hospital.

The fatal ambush came after weeks of increasingly violent behavior by the animals that the couple allegedly trained them for, new information included in an arrest affidavit obtained by The Post show.

Police received multiple tips that Moreno and Schnieder had “been breeding the dogs and training the dogs to be aggressive with meat,” the report states.

The dogs — King and Snow — had a history of violence in the city, which Schneider claimed only increased after they were sterilized.

The city’s Animal Control Services spayed the canines after they had attacked two people in two separate instances, officials said.

The move only made the animals more aggressive, and Schneider told cops they began fighting each other in the family’s yard.

She began recording “conversations with her husband regarding how dangerous the dogs had become,” but allegedly continued to keep the canines in the unsecured yard without chains or other tethers.

The pets escaped from their yard Friday and gunned for Najera while he was walking with his 74-year-old wife, Janie, and a friend who they had been visiting.

They latched onto Najera, even dragging him along the street, before they were chased away by city firefighters wielding pick axes. Janie was seriously injured, their friend was bitten on the hand and a responding fire captain was bitten in the leg.

King and Snow — as well as a third dog belonging to the family — were euthanized by ACS.

Moreno was arrested shortly after the attacks and faces felony charges of attack by a dangerous dog causing death and injury to an elderly.

Schneider was arrested with the same charges Wednesday after police established that she shares ownership of the animals.
Before her arrest, Schneider publicly apologized to Najera’s family, but claimed the murder wasn’t her husband’s fault.

She said they harnessed, tethered and locked the dogs behind the gate before they left the house, but the animals knocked down the fence while they were out — claims the arrest report contradicts.

Apparently her sister has also been terrorizing the local neighbours in retaliation for calling the cops, and it's been an ongoing issue.

Neighbors threatened by family that owns pit bulls after witnessing fatal dog attack

SAN ANTONIO - Neighbors of the man and woman arrested after a deadly dog attack in San Antonio last month are speaking out.

This comes after a third person connected to the case was charged with retaliation.

According to arrest records, Destiny Marie Cardona is the sister of Abilene Schnieder, one of the dog owners who is facing charges in the deadly attack.

A police affidavit says she was arrested Thursday for allegedly threatening a woman who spoke with police and with the media after the attack.

Documents say Cardona told the victim in a mix of English and Spanish, "You are going to pay for this," and "We are going to kill your son, bring him to you, find you, and kill you."

Belinda Rodriguez lives near the spot where 81-year-old Ramon Najera was killed and several people were injured in the dog attack.

Other neighbors report threats after witnessing fatal dog attack

She says she reported the house where the dogs lived multiple times before the mauling happened.

Her neighbor is the victim named in the arrest affidavits for Cardona.

"She called me yesterday and she felt some relief, she says," Rodriguez said of the neighbor who was allegedly threatened. "But she says now we're waiting to see what happens next."

Rodriguez says she's also been threatened after the dogs' owners were arrested.

"Egging of the house, toilet paper, fireworks, name calling..." Rodriguez said.

A spokesperson for the San Antonio Police Department says they are now investigating those incidents.

SAPD does not tolerate threats or vandalism. We have received a report for vandalism and are investigating. We encourage residents to report vandalism or threats to police by calling 210-207-SAPD or 911 if there is an immediate threat to life or property.
Attorney Robert Jimenez says retaliation cases happen often. They're classified as a third-degree felony.

"A third-degree felony is punishable by anywhere from two years in the Texas Department of Corrections up to a maximum of 10 years," Jimenez explained.

He says if you intentionally make a threat of harm to someone involved in a case, whether that be through words or conduct, it could be considered retaliation.

State lawmakers are already considering how to make reports for these situations more private, to prevent retaliation.

District 5 officials say they won't be commenting on the ongoing investigation.

A spokesperson says in an email, "any help that state legislators can give us in order to streamline and protect individuals throughout the reporting process is greatly appreciated."

For now, neighbors are still on edge.

They're worried the retaliation could continue if Cardona or the dogs' owners are released from jail.
