This is a very minor nitpick, but do I hate the basic boring UI the series has since RE7

It's efficient and unobtrusive for a horror game but boring for an action game. At least it isn't over designed I guess.

Video reviews of RE4 are without footage except from the demo and chapter 7, since Capcom doesn’t allow video reviews with ingame footage that is not from the demo and mentioned chapter.

German channel gamepro said they will release a video review on release day rather than showing footage from the demo again and again. Reason being they want to show the gold as well as the bad in the game.

One thing about this:

I don't know what that has to do with anything. Blackrock still owns a fuckton of pretty much every market. Tencent wishes they could be Blackrock. Blackrock pushes ESG the hardest, that's why you got even Nintendo making statements about the importance of ESG and diversity. You think Capcom is on the same level as Nintendo? Essentially what I'm saying is that Blackrock still has an insane amount of money in the markets and even with these bank failures and other company failures the hedge idiots will still follow what Blackrock says. Even if they don't, Blackrock has enough sway to threaten a pull out of any market if they don't get their way and people will bend over backwards to prevent that. Capcom included.

So it seems the game is fine and entertaining but the charm it had from being the progenitor of DMC was lost. Shame, Leon's personality post RE2 made a lot of sense in RE4 and his one-liners were some of the shit I enjoyed the most. I'll probably play this if it comes to Gamepass or once it drops in price.

The amount of shit to come from REmake and RE4 is insane... RE4 clearly has character animations and jiggle physics ripped straight from REmake (even shared models like the baby spiders). RE4's development alone helped to birth Devil May Cry and Haunting Ground (I believe Fiona has an idle animation shared with Ashley). Capcom also used to do cool little references between games, like Sadler and DMC3 Dante saying the line, "It's gonna be one hell of a party!"

Call it coomer shit, it rightly is, but the main reason Haunting Ground reached cult status is because of Fiona and Daniella. Replace them with uggos and the game would've been just another title in the PS2 era

Yoko Taro has the right idea. Nier Automata remains extremely popular today years after release and it ain't because of the plot.
