Resident Evil - Virgin Vampire Wine Mom vs Chad Magnetic Lebowski

I think that if we're attracted by characters it becomes easier to relate and care about them. Is that shallow? Or is that just natural?

The funny thing is though. Abby didn't have anything relatable or remotely likable about her character.
It’s natural to relate more to attractive characters. All throughout human history, fatness and ugliness was associated with a disgusting or greedy person. Naturally we relate to an attractive character because attractiveness is associated with a likable person.

And while there certainly are exceptions for both, I’d say most of the time it’s pretty accurate.

You know, I don't hate him so much for being a raped transgender porncow as much as I hate his bland, cynically corporate take on everything. Remember when he defended the RE3 remake as this awesome game (totally respectful of the original, yet incredibly creative, guyz!!!!!) and then immediately changed his mind when everyone realized what a scam that game was? And now, coincidentally, Capcom starts forcing him down everyone's throats? Welp, I'd say Sue Lightning changed that bald faggot's dick for some chink in Capcom. Oh, and also, fuck the fuckers who keep recommending his videos to me. It's pretty much imposible to talk about re games with gringo normies without them mentioning le resident evil tranny at some point.
It doesn't even review the games it just blandly recaps them beat by beat and then goes "yeah guys I love this game!"

Fucking hate tranny hunter.

So here's my summation of the game so far based off all the leak hunting I've done, plus a ludicrous amount of time in the demo. Base gameplay is pretty stellar, arguably better than the original, excellent combat and pretty great exploration. Areas have been given a bit more depth, new stuff to collect, lots of secrets.

Story and cutscenes are a straight downgrade. I don't have any issues with the new actors really, but all the dialogue has really bad 'Disney remake' syndrome where it has been dumbed down and simplified as much as possible. Lines of innuendo and jokes were changed to directly inform the audience exactly how you're supposed to feel and think.

And the cinematography is straight dogshit. Compare the Big Cheese pre-boss cutscenes and it's night and day.

I watched a few YouTube reviews and most of them seem to shit on the original in some way that make me question if they ever played the original at all.
  • "The voice acting is good now." It always was.
  • "Leon and Ashley have chemestry." They did in the original.
  • "You can upgrade weapons in some cool ways." You always could.
  • "They got rid of the dumb goofy stuff." Sounds like a downgrade to me.
  • "The remake is a rollercoaster ride that starts with you fighting a few villagers and escalates to absolute insanity." So did the original.
I also noticed none of the YouTubers I watched mentioned the cut/censored content.

One of the clickbait YouTubers I saw argued that the dialogue is "realistic" instead of "cheesy action movie quips." (or words to that effect. Given the cuts to Resident Evil 4 VR, I won't be surprised if what you say is accurate.

The voice acting was literally fucking worse in the remake.

In one of the most unrealistic, ridiculous, and bombastic video game franchises out there, why would “realistic dialogue” be a concern?

Gaming is dead.
has been for decades: creatively, morally, and ethically.

I think his hand is a scar from code Veronica. And I’m glad they got rid of D.C. Dickhead. He’s an awful voice actor. And yeah, his career is fucking over at this point. No company will wanna hire him with the risk of him leaking info.
the burned hand effect is easily from when Alexia got him during their brief fight. before, Wesker's caught some flames all over, but there she gets his full arm. in the ending cutscene his face gets beat up but that didn't seem to carry over. there's wild speculation about an re5 remake because Excella Gionne's face appears on Wesker's screens at the end of re4make... but i still don't see a CV:X remake in the cards. to segue a bit, i believe i read earlier in this thread some posts wondering why CV:X was so popular (or maybe it was on /v/) but that game really wasn't, so much as it was on dreamcast and dreamcast owners were desperate to justify their purchase of the console in any way they could.

as for DC Douglas, i'm of the mind that he's the only exceptional voice Wesker has ever had, made the character 'pop' so uniquely that it was profoundly 'resident evil', if that makes sense. the original re4 voice for Wesker might have been alright if they kept him, gave him some direction, but with how re5 panned out... nobody else could have delivered that astonishingly good performance. however, Douglas is a woke moralist and ruined his credibility with me many years ago. he's alleged, like so many celebrity actors, to also have used his status to prey on younger women. i take that with a grain of salt as the only source of that is a #believeWomen account on twatter.

Still waiting for a pic of the gangster costume.

If it even in it of course.
it's in as an unlockable from the bonus points shop. i did not save the pics, but they've been in /v/ threads. the pinstripes are thicker than the original. i don't know how to use 4chan board archive thing, whatever that is, but you could find it pretty easily i imagine, if you felt like it. alternatively, just go on /v/'s catalog and skim re4make threads.

if it's any consolation, sphere hunter is regularly mocked and derided in stream chats and on the steam forums, constantly being misgendered, having his male bone structure highlighted, his adam's apple pointed out, etcetera. it's pretty funny how nobody's been banned from the steam forum for it, too, given that he's apparently sucked enough dick at capcom to be featured in their marketing events.

none of the reviews can be trusted for information compared to leakers & fans. this is because capcom is pulling a squeenix: they want to harvest positive review scores whilst allowing none of them to talk about anything that hasn't been shown from the demo or the trailers. not even the usual disreputable shills like sphincter hunter can discuss the game - he even posted a video that was later privated at the request of capcom. everybody else enjoys the threat of being DMCA'd, of course.

before the leaks started flowing, i knew the game was going to be narratively unfaithful from the very first words i heard from Ada in the trailer that revealed her. then it got worse: seeing Salazar and Luis made it clear how butchered the casting was going to be, and eventually Saddler too. the visual redesigns of otherwise unique, mysterious and unusual characters would have left me speechless were i not dulled by the same thing happening in many other remakes. i've put a ton of hours into the demo because i think the gameplay will be exceptional, but that's all i want from re4make to begin with. i'm not going to speculate too much on BlackRock's involvement in this and that, because i'm just not versed in that kind of shit. indeed, there were company leaks around this kind of thing... but capcom deciding to self-censor and gradually adopt a policy of being as mundane and inoffensive as possible with the RE franchise i would argue stems more from the (unwarranted) backlash they received over RE5 and how diabolically racist that game was (it wasn't, and several black actors for the game, including Karen Dyer, rebutted those pricks).

Little bit of a sidenote, i can't believe how much Capcom (or anyone else for that matter) fails to realize the staying power of sex appeal. Call it coomer shit, it rightly is, but the main reason Haunting Ground reached cult status is because of Fiona and Daniella. Replace them with uggos and the game would've been just another title in the PS2 era

Shit, at this point i'd believe it if RE8's most memorable asset down the line is Lady Dimitrescu
It sure as hell isn't fish man, or the fact that the game basically plays itself after the castle.

Retards still calling RE5 racist in 2023 is why I still somewhat doubt Capcom will remake RE5.

I’m sorry Africa has niggers.

So it seems the game is fine and entertaining but the charm it had from being the progenitor of DMC was lost. Shame, Leon's personality post RE2 made a lot of sense in RE4 and his one-liners were some of the shit I enjoyed the most. I'll probably play this if it comes to Gamepass or once it drops in price.
I've said the same thing about playing RE2/3Make if they hit Gamepass yet here I am, with only having only played 5 up until I had to face Wesker and Shiva and RQ'd :(

Ada’s campaign was cut, and her outfit is a weird hybrid between being tactical and being a dress.
i'm still waiting on this one. some of the third-world shitters who posted videos on tiktok claimed that a mode called 'The Agent' unlocked after beating the game. Separate Ways may be cut for future DLC, but the Assignment Ada equivalent is still uncertain, as far as i know.

If they actually bothered to remake RE5 I want the damn game they were teasing us with before release.

Unless I'm suffering with false memory I was told the harsh desert environment would be a challenge into itself. But seriously though RE4 is the last truly iconic Resident Evil. It's time to push into the modern day of the timeline. Just please make the enemies interesting again I hope I never have to experience a Mold Monster ever again.

I hope they dont nerf Sheva like they have with every other MC, only reason anyone remembers her is because her stupid AI and being hot.

No you're right. Originally RE5 was supposed to have a Dying Light esq survival mechanic with a night/day cycle. Where your health would constantly degenerate in harsh desert sunlight during the day forcing you to find shelter and at night there would be more/tougher enemies.

It was being heavily advertised at the time pre release before being cut entirely.

Besides the remakes what kind of direction can they take the games for the future? Are they going to make a game with Rose and toss her aside or will any of the og characters get a time to shine that isn't in some movie or show.

Doubt it. Capcom and its Hollywood circlejerks will come up with OG donut steel characters and call them canon in the RE universe.

It was pretty cool how back in the day we used to really get a glimpse at how the sausages were made.

I can't blame them for only showing us during the Beta. Autists who send death threats are scum.
