I swear I saw this same design on one of those shady ads on a flash site lol. It looks like a tooth paste mascot.

I think the new designs suck but I don't really think having a black lead is a bad thing. It's better to think of a new character than to call her "Timmy" and soak up outrage clickbait. The only black character I could remember from the old show was AJ, and he wasn't interesting enough to make an all new main character. Better off just writing a new one.
From the small snippet of script I saw she sounds more annoying than Timmy, who was rarely ever happy-go-lucky. The reason he needed fairly god parents was because his life was fucking miserable. It was in the theme song.

But unlike Timmy she's going to be super happy all the time, and her biggest flaws will be that she's a klutz or that she cares too much about others. I hate that replacement characters like this always have to be perfectly well-adjusted. And if they aren't, it's everyone else's fault for not liking them. It's kind of what made Timmy a good protagonist in the original show, he was selfish and reckless, like kids are, so when he's given unlimited magic powers it backfires and he learns a lesson.

This girl will learn nothing, just like Mabel from Gravity Falls.

What I wanna know is why the hell did they place her parents' age at EARLY 50s?

If Hazel is 10 years old then that means they would've had had her at around early 40s. Which I'm not saying is an impossibility but... why the hell would you put her parents at near grandparents age? Especially when you consider the fact that by age 40 is when the fertility rate of women REALLY starts to enter the red zone before problems start to arise inb4 it's revealed she has autism.

Also, yeah. Either that or she has autism. She's already mentioned "stimulus" and they talked about her having obsessions. I'm surprised they aren't flaunting it for diversity points, but she's probably some form of autistic.

I thought Amber was overexaggerating earlier but what the fuck, this puberty shit really is everywhere now. Reading this summary, I think this is just going to terrify kids. I know if I saw something like this when I was little, at least, i'd get really scared of puberty.
Maybe if I was scared enough i'd try to find ways to prevent it.
