I think it's possible but very unlikely he was banned from the wedding - Nick said the night before that "I have a huge, and early, day tomorrow" which wouldn't make sense if his only commitment was an event that started at 5, even if it was a two hour drive away - though I do think it was possible that they left early. If the wedding was in the morning at 10-11ish they would have been able to attend both no problem, if it was in the afternoon they might have been pushing it.

If you forced me to speculate - I'd guess that they went to the wedding but Nick was apprehensive about some sort of tension that might be present there.

TBH, I put the Zoo event there more for the purposes of completeness to give the full context around the day. While they may have left early I'd be surprised if they were banned or skipped it.
