No chance he gets SSDI...that's for people who have a work history. The benefit is based on one's earnings, just like SS retirement benefit, and it converts automatically from SSDI to SS retirement upon reaching age 65. He is on SSI, which is needs based. The max amount of SSI in 2023 is $914/month, and recipients are automatically eligible for Medicaid. Not everyone gets the max; there is some arcane formula used to determine the amount. The folks I know who get SSI get something in the $700 range, plus SNAP (food stamps).

SSDI max amount is $3,627 at full retirement age but most people don't get the max SS retirement amount, because it's based on years worked and wages earned.

Also, you cannot collect SSI (or SSDI or SS retirement benefit) in jail, and it doesn't accumulate. Chris probably has the clothes on his back, pretty much, and while it's fairly easy to reinstate one's benefits after release from incarceration, he's most likely only got whatever money remained on his book.

You're wrong. It's already been reported this year by Praetor that Chris was still acruing. It's also really easy to check the Wiki to get all the info on this without speculating or playing armchair government clerk.

I think we're all missing something very crucial:

Where is Chris at this exact moment you think?
depending on how fast he gets processed he is either still in jail waiting for them to give him his stuff back or he has already been transported to some type of home. but on the off chance he is just 100 percent free to go he is absolutely gonna try and get barb to let him back in. there is absolutely no way chris wont try something.

I'm not SS expert, but I have heard of people getting back-pay, but that would require effort from Chris. He better hope he has a good social worker.

According to the Wiki in an email with Null it was revealed that Chris was getting approximately $1300 per month back in 2014 and Barb was taking about $900 for the mortgage and bills, but who knows how honest Chris or Barb was being about it.
It's possibly more than that now, with cost-of-living increases.

Another cow Dragonlordfrodo has SSI and has been in and out of jail a few times and everytime he gets out the first thing he does is get his checks and cash them.

I don't think they would inflate it, that would be against the logic of them needing gibs from orbiters.
My point wasn't that they might inflate it, but that they could have been lying and saying it was lower than it was actually. Also not sure if it was Chris or Barb who controlled the access to that money and I could see either one of them lying to the other about it.

Just a thought, but should the Incarceration counter on the CWCki have a new counter added stating something like 'It has been X days since Chris was released from Jail'?
