Kson's rant feels more like it's targeted at anyone who tries to be overbearing and control what vtubers do rather than unicorns specifically, though she did mostly focus on that. I'm still not sure where she got this idea that such people are what 'weeb' means, though.

Lia gone huntin
Pina getting spooked
Meemaw trying to cheese
And I wanna know who told Natsumi about the witch hat to cuteness ratio?

She is far too powerful now.

She's saying that Weebs take direction on what's appropriate and what's to be admired from the Japanese audience, therefore they need to be careful, because small changes in Japanese culture can reverberate into large changes in the international audience.

Okay, it's just a collab, but didn't she get the memo the last time around?
I guess this confirms that froot is the only one in vshojo who cares about transgender people. The rest of them are deeply transphobic.
There's probably a joke somewhere in hosting a charity stream for trans people on April Fools day.

I think the weeb aspect of it was just her remarking on how that "unicorn" mindset (even if it's still a minority) has certainly grown in recent years. And how she sees "weeb culture" as something that attempts to emulate JP culture so she was saying that not all aspects of JP culture are necessarily desirable. She goes about it in the kind of typical JP way though which is to tiptoe around the topic and not make any too direct accusations or admonishments which is it's own whole cultural issue.

She more or less said she's speaking on behalf of people she's friends with that aren't able to say it themselves and t here's a handful of possible contenders for who that might be, but I wouldn't even necessarily say she's wrong. There's many causes for the behavior, and like others said it's not even entirely unique to "idol culture" but at the same time I think it holds water to say that "idol culture" or some bastardization of it from the west, is more uniquely involved in the mindset than anything else in mainstream vtuber content specifically. Even if tongue in cheek Hololive has to an extent made "idol culture" considered hand in hand with Vtubing, There's a reason why EN vtubing is filled with language like Oshi, gachikoi, and unicorn being lifted straight out of idol fan subculture. But what she's saying is it doesn't have to be the toxic unicorn shit that gets picked up, that can be left behind.

In 2020 after we had gone through the Towa Fiasco with overseas fans almost universally rallying around her after the "yab" of "a male voice was heard on stream" I never would have expected there to be much of the unicorn mindset in the EN fanbase at Myth's launch, Even the Calli/Connor nonsense seemed largely to be more about "We hate Connor because he's an anituber and/or his opinions" than "She's talking to a man", but then fast forward to mid/late 2022 and we have the drama that flares up any time an EN member even just talks to let alone collabs with a member of tempus and it starts to become clear that whatever this unicorn subset of the fanbase is, it's gotten larger. Still a minority for sure but that doesn't mean it's not worth tamping down on and kept in check. (look no further than trannies to realize the risk of letting a loud minority go unchecked for too long)

tldr it is always morally acceptable to shit on unicorns
