There have also been cases of people who had genetic testing, and it was "wrong", either a false positive or a false negative. Some people believe that it's a case of mosaicism, and all the ab/normal cells went to the baby, and the others to the placenta. Research is being done about this.Iirc, it has to do with the timing of the egg splitting. Earlier twinning splits mean that each zygote has more time to form DNA independently as it continues to grow, leading to a higher chance of mutations.
Eggs can split anywhere between days 3 and 13. Twins formed in the two cell split state are the most likely to develop genetic mutations, this would be at day 3.
