When I was that age we had mixed friend groups, there were boys nights and girls nights but those were rare.
IDK what happened at boys nights but girls night was complaining about men and laughing about sex stuff. Usually some chick would try to bring her boyfriend and that was annoying. The other activities (shopping, movies, drinking, dancing, BBQ, watching the game) were open for whoever wanted to come. Beer and sport was pretty evenly mixed because those are generic nice things that people enjoy.

Nowadays people blindly copy Western (mostly American) habits and we get bs like baby showers (something that used to be a taboo), cringey bachelor(ette) parties, bridezillas and their handmaidens, etc. I would like to remind everyone that in many catholic or orthodox countries pink used to be a boy's colour (dedicated to Jesus) and blue was for girls (Virgin Mary). This Western bs only makes the "war of sexes" even worse and both men and women participate in Opression Olympics to convince themselves and others who is the biggest victim.

Batchelor and Bachelorette parties in the UK used to be called stag and hen parties respectively.
Both were basically about getting the intended drunk and in an embarrassing situation with a stripper.
It was also traditional to handcuff the groom nude to a lamppost outside a police station as a “prank”.

These “girls not like other girls” were not usually pooners in the making, just mostly bitter or misfit girls.
