I think a lot of fans are leaving him right now. His popularity spiked a bit over anime expo, but a lot of fans were upset about his pandering blog posts about the new damn inventory system, and in those same blog posts someone was linking this site as a way to "XPOSE THE TRUTH ABOUT DEV" which is how I found this place.
Until recently, I was a huge fan, and in recent events it appears he has insulted, upset, and lost his head modeler(though him leaving is for a different reason), face-revealed, and even been called out for a buggy game by some of his most loyal Yandere Sim LPers.
It's slow but gradual, and that cliff you're standing on is crumbling, Eva...

I decided to do some research myself, for shits and giggles.

One of my favourite LP'ers is a British guy about my age (bit younger) called "Failrace." He focuses on car-based games, mainly racing games, and has uploaded over 2 thousand videos over the span of several years. He makes a point of posting two per day. He has a small-ish (as LP'ers go) but highly-dedicated following of 137,423 subscribers.

YandereDev has 71 videos, including all the rants and crap like that, and is at 833,825 subscribers and counting.

Both happen to be named "Alex." That's not relevant, but it's kinda funny.

Both have Patreons. In fact, both have Patreons for something they do full-time.

YandereDev has 1036 patrons and pulls in $4882/mo.
Failrace has 58 patrons and gets $5281/mo (about £3988 to him - that's a decent income)

Failrace has used his Patreon money to purchase camera equipment (GoPros etc) and make real-world videos, such as visiting the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and even fixed one to his remote-control racecar for a pretty wild "first-person" video (seriously those things fly!)
