I have a hypothetical question for y'all

I know very little about patents, trademark, and copyright law, and this is probably gonna sound unbearably retarded to anyone who does, but if Eva establishes Yandere Simulator as an IP and sold the rights to someone who could put the game in the hands of a competent developer, would you be interested in it?

I've never really been averse to weeb shit, but something about the aesthetic of Yandere Simulator has kept me away from it. It just looks really bland, and I imagine professional game designers could think up a far more interesting art style. I'm no graphics whore, but I'd probably check it out if that were the case.
I'd be interested if the dev could save it from the fetish-fueled cesspool it's become. Eva has no idea of what he's doing. This game could've gotten away with being a tongue-in-cheek parody about anime tropes and weeboos if not for the edginess and him stuffing his fetishes into it. (Or if Eva wasn't the dev.)

A lot of things would have to be scrapped first (coding, writing, easter eggs...), but it would be for the best.

As it stands, it's a case of "good ideas, poor execution" (to put it veeeery politely), but in the hands of a competent dev it could be genuinely good.

Absolutely. I'd enjoy playing the game if the glaring problems with it were fixed and the game was, you know, actually completed. If someone can move it beyond the proof of concept stage, that's a massive improvement. I feel Yandere Simulator is going to become much like the PC version of Revolution 60; it's going to be in a perpetual state of not done while the developer screws around with junk that doesn't matter.

Though, the first thing the hypothetical new competent dev would probably do would be to permanently delete everything YandereDev has done and start fresh.:powerlevel: I sometimes wonder how much time and effort it would take to make a similar game and almost consider starting, except I know absolutely nothing about modeling and animation.

No wonder he trades chans for reddit. They're going to stroke his ego so much he'll think he's the new Carmack.

His intention is for a KS to pay for developers to make it for him.

If he retained complete creative control over a team of competent developers, even if there were only a few of them, the game would be finished sooner and would certainly be less buggy. Thing is, though, whilst we mostly agree the game concept is decent, the actual content is most of what makes YanSim so cringeworthy in the first place. That's Eva's "creative control" at work.

He'd have to pay programmers really well if he expected them to implement all his bizarre, disturbing, or totally irrelevant ideas. Then again, he seems so indecisive that I'm more willing to bet programmers would work for a few days and then quit for their own sanity.

I doubt this will happen to be honest, he'll probably use all the money to buy his real life sex doll and a new 3d mouse pad. After all he's still a control freak who's thirsty for praise and fame, why would he pay programmers who will steal his worthiness ?
How will he be able to show how much of an overworked nice programmer he is ?

Oh definitely. In my eyes, it's one of the things that will have to go for any dev worth their salt to really make something of this game.

might be late but he wants to sell panties as merchandise for yansim.

i'm sure it'll go over well with your fanbase that's compromised mostly of 13-year-old boys.
Really shouldn't even be thinking about merch at this point anyway when the game's not even a tenth of the way done.
Especially not this kind when he's trying to have it taken seriously.

Might as well quit lurking and post something. How the hell do panties seem like the most appropriate merchandise? I could understand shirts, knives with the logos (not sure that would fly though), or hell, might as well dip into evas personality a bit, and produce character body pillows.
Continuing on, maybe one day we should waste our money on a ticket to Japan for him, so he could finally realise that outdated anime is not exactly like Japan, as he seems to think. But judging from what I've seen, he would learn nothing. Also, how many people here actually joined because of this thread? Seems like half did.

"But i made a Hatred and ebola easter eggs! That makes my game the most anti-sjw ever right?!"
Unrelated but that stance that Yandere-chan takes when she loses sanity/gets edgy looks so bad. It's like she's got something sticky on her hands and doesn't want to touch her uniform.

I'm excited for the imminent crash and burn of YanSim. How long do you think he will last now that things are rolling down hill :story:

He wants to pull a mighty no.9...among OTHER things

Mighty No.9 made it's kickstarter. I'm not quite sure YanSim would make a ton of money (I'm not sure how much YanDev would expect or ask for). Most of the fans of the game are so young they wouldn't have much to donate.

probably a month at best.
after his little tantrum on 4chan, it's literally a ticking timebomb until Alex loses it.
I don't think so. This year, if we are optimistic. EvaXephon isn't the type to rant at his blog (save for e-Mails) and as long as he separates his fans from the other internet platforms he's using, he'll be fine. He's just doing that, so... I don't suspect him to be THAT stupid. There is a good reason he has made it this far in three years, I don't think it can go downhill that fast.

That would mean, his fans are all smart, which is obviously not the case.
