I hate the “animation is cinema” crowd, not because I disagree with the statement but for the fact they only ever bring it up to discuss random kids movies. There are so many great independent animated films and many great foreign films that are never talked about in favor of shit like Super Pets or whatever Disney slop is made.
You know, if anyone's going to bring up the "animation is for everyone" argument, I suggest adding scenes from Coonskin, Heavy Metal, Rock & Rule, Akira, The Plague Dogs and The Adventures of Mark Twain to show people that animation is for everyone rather than typical nuDisney/Pixar crap.

Yeah or hell films like Loving Vincent, Perfect Blue, Wes Anderson’s animated films, and Anomalisa.
There’s so much more in animation yet people who harp on animation is cinema just use it to justify watching animated children’s films, which is fine but don’t pretend it’s for high art.

This indie cartoon got released on Youtube. You know its furry bait because Sabrespark likes it, but its also really impressive for an indie produced animation. Apparently its an animated adaptation of webcomic. I really love the 1920's aesthetic.

Why can’t we just have Spider-Man and Gwen be Spider-Man and Gwen? Every superhero kids movie as of late focuses too hard on identity and “diversity”politics but it has nothing to do with advancing in the story.
Even in animated movies like this one, it’s just going to get taken out in other parts of the world since it’s just American values stepping on other countries’ values for not adhering to theirs.

Disagree. when I watched this episode back then I didn't feel bad for Helga after what she did because she always does this shit when some other girl talks to Arnold. She did it to Lila (more than once), she did it to Olga, she did it to Ruth, she did it to that one girl from the beach and she did it to Patty.
Helga is a possessive bitch and it would've been unbearable if she got away with it. Thankfully she never did in each of these instances. She was rightfully told she was being mean or felt guilty about it later. Cherry on top? She couldn't undo what she did. She was left to stew in it like the ending to "The Graduate".
Helga is right next to Zuko of memorable characters modern day writers wish to make but miss the fucking point.
