Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

didn't we all think the leaks about skywalker were fake
and then it was even worse than we thought
I hope we get to see Rey 9 months pregnant and backflipping over lava while lightsaber fighting. Maybe some Phantom Menace style energy fields break up the fight just long enough for her to give birth and then she resumes the fight.

I've seen House of the Dragon. Just casually reaching up in there and ripping it out is how strong heroines handle pregnancy.

The Wallace and gromit short looks fun. The game looks good. That's it. Disney is pissing money into the wind

A friend was talking about how with Rey rebuilding the Jedi Order successfully, not turning to the Dark Side, etc. that its like they erased the old EU just to take everything from Luke and give it to Kathleen Kennedy OC Rey. And I was like "Well, Rey doesn't have Mara Jade." But then I realized... oh... oh no... how could they gain more points with their fans and further alienate old fans? Rey will be a lesbian with NuCanon Mara Jade. Who will be black, like all formerly redhead characters must be in current year.

why can't we ever just have a very nurturing and motherly female character?

two lesbians raising a baby
that kids coming out dark side

It was literally established by massacring children and old people in a temple. They enslaved entire races. They built a fucking super weapon to blowed up planets.
You have a point if the Empire massacred a few million to trillions of loyal Republic citizens. But massacring a few dozen to at best a few thousand traitorous Jedi in the temple is seen and treated as a necessary action to ending the War as seen by the Republic now Imperial citizenry.

It is a matter of looking at it as the audience going through the story with everything laid out before them.
Or as someone who's inside the story with an extremely limited knowledge of anything happening outside of what they can see, hear, touch, or smell.

So Andor is good. The irrelevant and pointless prequel series to Rogue One of all Disney Star Wars content is the only one that's good. It wasn't the new trilogy, it wasn't the series made around a fan favorite, and it wasn't in any video game. It was fucking Andor.
Basically the director of the Bourne spy films and the writers of House of Cards were given free reign to actually create the show they wanted, as the Cassian Andor IP was near worthless to Disney. With minor tweaks, this could easily been set on 20th/21st century Earth.
Is it really good? All the positive reviews seem to say it's nothing like Star Wars "which is why it works bigot!" and the comments on YouTube seem to paint it as a long, tedious, gray show with little action and lots of staring pensively into the distance.
It's incredible. The first two episodes are a little slow and the childhood scenes are too long, but it is all worth it. The action is all meaningful and anyone can die.
You know how the original writers of Rogue One wanted something grey? Andor is like that, but the Empire is unmistakably worse than the disorganized Rebels.
The Empire does evil, but Andor shows what brings the antagonists to be evil. One villain even has a warped "Hero's Journey" arc. The Rebels aren't classically evil, but the Greater Good is a wicked path.
Come to think of it... Trudeau is a fan.😱

come on, man, the empire's evil
i fucking love it but they're unmistakably an oppressive force that loves putting stupid people through woodchippers
i'm all for woodchippering stupid people but a lot of people have a problem with that, noticably rich snobs too good for actual work

I loved that little speech.

It's even better since he starts by implicitly threatening Lonny's family whilst being visibly troubled whether preserving a mole in Imperial intelligence is worth letting a whole cell of loyal rebels fall into an ambush. Luthern is an evildoer with noble goals

I never said they weren't evil, I am looking at the Empire as core world Imperial citizen Joe Shmoe with what available in universe information at hand. Empire's bad not not bad enough to risk losing everything including family. Unless of course the Empire decides to shit either in my or my family's proverbial cornflakes to make aiding or joining Rebellion an only viable option.

I found this lesser known channel "Fan Advocacy". He sounds like a 40-year-old Boomer that makes some good points but this video he gets downright disgusting when making fun of Lizzo's weight. Yeah we get it it's a recruiting joke to keep making fun of her size but come on dude. She's a classically trained floutus (someone that plays the flute) and her acting skills though a little stiff she could be the next Queen Latifah. No joke by the way.

Also did I mentioned he has a channel on Rumble? https://rumble.com/c/c-1853077

I remember enjoying the first few seasons when I was a kid. I still remember the episode where the advanced droids infiltrated one of the clone's outposts was pretty damn good.
Filoni Wars is definitely a case of Lucas exerting his executive producer influence on the story, but is a rare case where the story is better for it. Filoni today would not write a story that's like this and it's proven in successive media. I still think Lucas today has a grandpa brain, which is why his later work is bad, but it's still more comprehensible than what Filoni does today.

It's transparisteel, not glass

No one is talking about the efficiency of huge solar panels in powering ion engines. We are talking about how unaerodynamic the TIE's solar panels are in atmosphere. Which they are if looked at from the hard-science perspective you blithering autist

We are talking about a civilization many thousands of years more advanced than ours, but their fighter craft and capital ships fight at close range instead of shooting missiles or railgun projectiles or massive lasers at each other from dozens or hundreds or thousands of kilometers away. Sensor range doesn't mean shit in Star Wars, where it's established that snubfighter lasers have an effective range of about a kilometer, and the max effective range for a snubfighter to lock on for a missile launch is TWO WHOLE KILOMETERS

Under those conditions, the Mark One eyeball is still very useful. Because SW is WW2 in space and we gotta have dogfights and close-range slugfests, which are much more dramatic and entertaining

2.5 kms if I recall right. Eh, Tie Fighters were always meant to be cheap.

I can understand nerfing the transport, some idiot put a nuke level cannon on it, not realising that it would invalidate the AT AT, the artillery walker tank we saw in Clone Wars, so giving it a nerfed gun would make sense. Like give it a few fast firing guns and an AA missile pod.

I like that Jack Black and Lizzo's characters are ridiculous, because their domed society is absolutely ridiculous. Their society is a Current Year liberal's wet dream: totally peaceful (no army, the constables are prohibited from carrying guns), no one has to work, they have a literal YASS QUEEN as their fucking Queen, and they are somehow rich enough to hire a standing army of bounty hunters with super armor. Christopher Lloyd drops some truth bombs about how getting rid of the droids would ruin everything because the people forgot how to work and are now absolutely useless.

And old guy was the only slim person. Beetus Planet.

If current Disney wasn't so damn woke, I'd have called the design of this "planetary democracy" based. They're all useless twats without their robots, and their leadership has been reduced to pampered aristocrats who do nothing but gorge themselves and party all day. The one guy who's upset about it was an honest zealot for liberty, who pretty much just admits that the entire populace have been reduced to lazy dorks who do no work at all.
The old dude was the only sane man in in a whole planet of useless eaters.

A warlord could just take over, and have the droids do the work and make actual value.

Black, trans and disabled!

Imagine if Palpatine did possess her, and had redhead OG Mara Jade just as an epic fuck you.
Creamy Sheev.

SW had more appeal than ST because it was truckers and western in space, not wordsalad commietopia.

But I kind of prefer the old non current era stuff. Old Republic, Mandos, Ancient Sith, etc. There is only so many skins you can pull off of "Luke, Han and Leia goes to fight off new big bad" before it gets the same.

But at least they didn't have Dan Abnett writing about Luke. Imagine Johnson with even more side characters and insane subplots.

Remember when star was visionaries was interesting shit like "what if Darth Maul survived the Phantom Menace"

and now its this shit and kpop and cal arts looking protagonists?

Shouldn't be surprised I guess, because this is Disney

@Male Idiot Star Wars as per Incredible Cross Sections blasters were nuke guns. Since nobody at LucasFilm had bothered to proofread and tard stranglefuck Curtis Sexton as he was using Spacebattles biggaton  tier yield numbers. When he was writing the ICS books at the time. Nevermind none of that matched what was shown on screen in the movies.

Fanservice cameos include Wullf Yularen, Mon Mothma, Saw Gerrera, you have a starship that turns into a giant double-bladed lightsaber slicing through TIEs, and the whole message is "fascist man bad" even though the Imperial authorities weren't that bad until the rebels pissed them off, and that's still seen as necessary; turning the Empire from lazy pussies into autistic tyrants was something they wanted to get more people to rebel.
I wouldn't call them fanservice cameos since you can't really address the formation of the Rebellion and the ISB without including them
remember those worlds that later formed the core of the Alliance, and how they were wealthy enough to fund a private army to fight against a galactic Empire? (Chandrila, Corellia, Alderaan)
I'm pretty sure that Corellia and (later) Mon Cala did most of the heavy lifting in terms of industry, naval power and logistics considering that they were major industrial centres whereas Chandrila and Alderaan were a bunch of idealist who though that ol Sheevy P was being a meanie-head.
and now its this shit and kpop and cal arts looking protagonists?

That's from the Aardman short, you can't expect photorealism when the character is literally made out of clay.

If you actually look at the novels and guidebooks, Saxton was being subtle. More than once they explained in the guidebooks, novels, and comics that turbolasers can literally glass planets better than nukes can. Nobody among the EU authors, outside of Karen Traviss, called out Saxton in his numbers because damn near every book, comic, or guide that talked about orbital bombardment in the EU agreed with his stats.

And last I checked, they never showed orbital bombardment in the movies.

Kathleen Kennedy has been so bad at managing Star Wars that I am starting to suspect she is sabotaging Star Wars on purpose.
Likely out of hate and spite.

I bet she hates the fans, and finds them as being pathetic man children, and she gets gleeful joy at seeing them burn what they loved too. Very likely she hates Lucas too.

I sincerely doubt she ever cared about Star Wars.

Why isn’t she fired? Maybe she does have that blackmail material to avoid being fired. She was a glorified secretary after all.

Wishful thinking maybe. But it’s far more believable at this point than her being that incompetent and Disney‘s leadership being ok with it. It has to be on purpose, right? Because even a retard that loves Star Wars would try do something cool. KK seems more like she is just trying to burn the whole thing down.

Nike comercial or not, Theres now way she didn’t know what she was doing when she wore that “the force is female t-shirt” as the head of Lucasfilm.

Is she that clueless? Or just being a spiteful bitch? Honestly I find the later far more believable.

At best the only episodes that really mattered to George and had any major direct input from him for the script were the final ones with Yoda and the Mortis arc, but even those received further changes from Furloni once it came time to give the scripts form. George was barely involved as it was in the writer's room outside of pitching ideas and initial scripting since George in his usual weird mindset only cared about Filoni Wars as a vehicle to showcase how far you could push the limits of CGI animation on television and showing what Lucasfilm was capable of, as George above all else had become more of a man of visuals than story by this point.

Even the scripts, once they went into production, became drastically different than what the writers and George intended, as noted by JW Rinzler the writer for The Disappeared arc of Filoni Wars, who explained that the writing process involves George pitching an idea like "I want an episode where Padme has to solve a murder mystery", "I want an episode where bounty hunters kidnap senators or do an Ocean's eleven", "Do something with Maul" or "I want an episode where Jar Jar has a girlfriend and is revealed to not be as dumb as he wants people to think", and once a writer finished the script, George would give it the okay and pass it on to Filoni to direct who would then make the script almost completely unrecognizable from the original product beyond the superficial idea pitch and George really wouldn't be involved beyond checking to make sure if the animation looked as good as it could be. Resulting in Filoni Wars being an inconsistent mess and receiving its own continuity ranking outside of both the EU and the films that made it barely fit in either. Filoni lived in such an echo chamber that he constantly ignored input from the story keepers whenever he wanted to do something that went against pre-established rules, and would go off and whine to George that he needed to change this and that in order for an episode to get done, essentially undermining them, especially when Filoni wanted to bring a character back from the dead for no reason; he would later even grow arrogant enough to undermine George's own decisions.
1681213803064.png

Even the final episodes with Yoda seeking immortality which had scripts directly overseen by George were altered heavily by Filoni once it came time to adapt them as he was now overseeing the animation process alone since George had now moved away from Star Wars by this point in 2014, resulting in a bigger excess of cameos than usual and designs that are just constant references, with even Bane getting Filonified to look more like Vader and represent the new discanon going forward. A slightly similar thing happened before with the Mortis arc. Even George's daughter Katie Lucas who was involved with Filoni Wars had to quit since Filoni constantly changed her creative decisions, undermined her ideas and those of others or took credit for things he didn't do.

As well as in Aladdin Rebels in how Thrawn was handled, with Filoni bringing in Zahn to "consult" on how to manage Thrawn, only for Zahn to reveal in a later interview that he had zero creative control over the character beyond overseeing lines and Gilad being reduced to a two second offscreen cameo, and Zahn not even being allowed involvement with the new live action Thrawn. Making it clear that bringing back Zahn and Thrawn was just a publicity stunt to boost ratings.

He's also the one along with Kennedy who butchered the script for Kenobi on Disney+ for being "too similar to his ideas" and focusing too much on Obi-Wan and Luke despite originally being based on the Kenobi novel, since even Filoni himself has made clear on several occasions that he's not a big fan of anything that's not his cartoon beyond animal, weapon and droid references or even Luke for that matter beyond using him for guest star fodder as seen with his involvement with TLJ and having Rian only watch his fucking cartoon for influence.

Most of this is in the OP. Edit: Also @5t3n0g0ph3r if its not too much trouble, could you add some of the few new snippets to Filoni's section ?
