It definitely deserves more consideration. Of late, the LOCALS coterie have been less interesting. With an eye to thread longevity, I think a more general thread of 'Nicholas detractors' is the way to go unless some of them become truly exceptionallly exceptional.

In light of this, I will choose quality over quantity with my archive selections. I have a few brands in the fire that might turn into a good OP, but that is in future. I am content to wait, but if the case and initial investment of time and work can be made to start and maintain a thread by someone else, I will of course contribute.

If we're debating whether it's a good idea to split threads off or not, let me come down strongly against any splitting of the thread. I said the same thing when people started talking about a Drex thread: people only really care about these people as it relates to Rekieta, and so it only splits the conversation across multiple threads and subforums. With Drex, there was a massive flurry of attention as people gathered all the breadcrumbs of information from old streams, and then interest died down as there's no new content except when he pops on Nick's stream.

As has been pointed out, the LawTube gets basically zero traction because it turns out nobody really cares about these people when they're not on Nick's stream. Similarly, I don't think a "People of Nick Rekieta's Locals Chat" thread is going to get much attention. Probably less, really. Most of the Locals chat is people talking to Nick, talking about Nick, or jockeying for Nick's attention anyway, so it's directly related.

I feel like the current arrangement is more or less acceptable unless Nick gets divorced and rides his Ducati down to Mexico and we get a Rekieta subforum. And if we are splitting off threads, I think the first to be split off should be a "Nick Rekieta's Hairline" thread in the Lolcows of History subforum.

Manual motorcycles are 10x easier to drive than a car, requires little to no dexterity. Pull clutch in with left hang, move left foot up or down to shift. Engage clutch slowly when taking off.
I can still imagine balldo just dropping the clutch while having it revved up while sitting still. I can only pray someone catches it on recording.

I was looking at their Streetfighter V4 S a while back and watching review videos. They now have a bunch of power/riding modes for at least the streetfighter that tame it down quite a bit even at 208hp, turning it into almost a daily driver (minus the maintenance. The Panigale V4 R doesn't have those features, and Nick wouldn't have the balls to drive something that fast without some bullshit system pulling his freedom down.

Nick also showed questionable judgment taking his Mustang out to his hair plug appointment earlier in the week.

It was a long, cold winter in his general area this year with tons of snow and late spring snow flurries.

While it's not as unsafe as it was when he crashed it on the way home from the dealer, it's still less than ideal.

The roads and shoulders are still full of winter's sand, debris, garbage and unrepaired potholes.

Not to mention the perfect time of year to get a pebble kicked up against your windshield with chips and cracks.

Just stating the fact that manual transmissions on motorcycles are extremely easy to operate. I've met one too many people that could "ride" a bike, but shouldn't be riding a bike.
Balldo's pride would also be too large to take a basic motorcycle course learning these basic skills on beatup bikes. Much less wearing safety equipment on a fast and shinny bike.

Nick is the kind of dude that, when he tries to move around a bike like the Ducatis... he just falls over to the side over the motorcycle because he doesn't have the body strength to do it, and probably ends up making up excuses when somebody ask him about all the screeching on the side of the bike and the missing rearview mirror... that's Nick.

And alcoholism causes a lot of muscle strength loss, problems calculate distance, speed, reaction times, and everything that you need to be on your best when you are on a bike.

The sooner he gets on a bike the sooner he falls, the cheaper the quicker. If it’s an expensive bike he might show it some reverence, unlikely considering the Mustang, but if the bike is cheap he will consider it beneath him and treat it with even less respect.
