Pat has the problem of, unquestionably, being a limited purpose public figure, and one who is associated with and has gone out of his way to defend pedophiles and subsequently refused to denounce their pedophilia when presented irrefutable evidence. The latter is not what surface-level normies into crypto are buying since it's a "privacy coin" which is so far untrackable and thus used by crooks like Torswats. It should be possible to find Pat's crypto addresses, since we know he was using Gemini, and from there it's possible to trace who he was sending the BTC to, like for instance another exchange to purchase XMR.

Despite the terms "pedophile" and "child molester" not being equivalent [the former being a state of mind or attraction and the latter referring to a criminal act], referring to a person as a "pedophile", legally, carries the connotation that they have engaged in the act of molesting a "child". Unless a person has, at the bare minimum, been charged with such a crime, it's a very bad idea to publicly state or publish that they are a "pedophile". There are a lot of ways to say that a person is a piece of shit because they defend people within their orbit who might be awful people without, effectively, accusing them of committing serious sexually-based offenses. Proving actual malice can be as simple as showing that there is no record of a person being charged with such a crime and arguing that any person making such an allegation had a duty to consider the public record before they made the allegation and, in not doing so, they were textbook "reckless" with regard to its truth or falsity.
