Cynthia was more interested in treating this place as a proxy for communicating with the locals and Nick. This is why there were so many pointed comments toward the locals in her posts (sometimes sounded like KF was an extension of locals chat). It's also the only reason why she would make herself so identifiable; so they would know it was her who was posting. In this way, Cynthia never truly left locals or joined KF and the outcome hasn't surprising so much as disappointing.

The information was useful, but a good/smart Kiwi would just post information here knowing it will be read by Nick and his locals regardless. Nick and the locals don't need to know who posted it for it to matter to them. Cynthia clearly left her mark on them already since most people they don't like have been "Cynthia" to them anyway. Whatever has happened between Nick/locals and Cynthia seems to be deeply personal on both sides.

Highly likely that Cynthia has difficulty establishing personal boundaries, which is why she is so upset with people who really aren't worth getting upset over (Nick, locals, or even people here) and willing to go to such lengths to "cause chaos". Platforms that encourage close-knit communities don't make this easier for her. That said, while KF has a facilitated healthy boundaries by actively encouraging people to stay anonymous and not share personal information, Nick and his locals did not (it took KF documenting the chat for them to even discuss it).

TL/DR: Cynthia was closer to being an ex-local than a good Kiwi. Given time she may have outgrown Nick/locals and come into her own (sucks to be so connected to something one hates), but that's on her if/when it happens.

Being charitable, I can see why he would be upset at people coming into his community spaces just to spread insults and baseless speculation. It's hard to tell if the "bad" things he's talking about were directed at the other community members or at him/his show. But letting all of that go is a standard he seemed to take pride in for a very long time. Roll with the punches, insult right back, laugh at the end. Here he seems on the verge of tears.

If he is taking this new stance, I cannot fathom how he is still also using it as a defense for not removing pornographic content and threats of violence that are extremely close to being actionable, if they aren't already over the line. If it's not about free speech anymore, and it can't be, is it laziness preventing him from moderating? Does bad for business mean things that hurt his feelings?
