At this point, it’s obvious he must just enjoy being mad all the time.
It's a common online trait that shows just how susceptible they are to being manipulated. It's clear that anger is profitable online - it drives clicks and attention. So someone like Shane is not only dutifully letting his anger control him, but even enjoys it, because he gets to direct his anger outwards at all the alt-right Nazis he's been told he can hate freely.
@Spunt's thoughtful post about Shane is, I think, accurate but subconscious. Shane is dumb, and operates on a stimulus-response level. He has negative self-awareness, so doesn't even understand what we find so funny about him and his posturing. Now, dumb people can still pick up on concepts and information, but they generally can't properly comprehend them or apply that knowledge outside the context they learned it. 'Projection!', Shane smugly declares, unable to think how it applies to his actions far more than any of his 'opponents'.
That might be a lot of words to say Shane is a moronic ragepig, but I think it's interesting to dig into just how simple a person he is. Not just intellectually, but also in his complete lack of depth. There's nothing
there - just someone who thinks lying about yourself and telling people to fuck off on the internet makes him big and tough. He doesn't understand why, he just knows it does, so that's all he does. Like a coomer (which he undoubtedly is), he only cares about doing what satisfies him in the now.
