There is no big story. People were talking to him online. He thought he had a better chance of getting sex from the internet people. Impulse cost money, the internet cost $0.

He still kinda keeps an eye on gay activities in the area, like Impulse and stuff. Probably too lazy to go regularly until people stop talking to him online.

I think eventually everyone will get bored with him. He's becoming less and less interesting over time. Barb will die, he'll be devastated but eventually he'll get over it and then I suspect he'll probably just wind up doing the same boring shit every day. Wake up in the afternoon, play vidya, get some junk food, play more vidya, go to bed. Although by that stage his heart level will have been shattered by heart disease.

Does he actually think he's got a chance of getting sex from internet people, or is it just that he realized Impulse is an absolute zero on that front so why pay?

So, I'm actually worried over Barb's life. Not just the lack of finances and proper health care, but the very real possibility of her suffering from a fatal asthma attack, or anything similar, while Chris is the only person home. I highly doubt he'd know what to do, and its very much possible that his imcompetence will lead to his mother dying early. Barb may not be the best gal, but she shouldn't die early, and Im wondering if there is anything possible to do.
Likewise, if Chris' mother dies, I cant see him living beyond a year

"Internet people" is a bad description. Chris doesn't fall for internet people. The fatal flaw weens have is that they believe they can troll Chris without entering Virginia (or paying money). That hasn't been possible since Ivy.

I'm referring to people who I know to be internet people. A girl might've talked to Chris IRL and introduced herself to him, and then handed off the reins to someone on the internet.

So yes, Chris knows a few people he knows to be girls. The ones at Impulse haven't banged him and aren't really interested in him. The non-Impulse ones are still talking to him, and they seem interested.

Chris would call 911.

I don't know, what do you do in an asthma attack? Give CPR? Personally, I don't know CPR. The best I could do is call 911.

You don't do CPR unless the heart stops, but that is beside the point. The basics of that are certainly true. Chris presumably knows very little first aid, but he seems to have the sense to call 911 when emergencies happen. Which puts him in line with most of the population.

But there are some ways in which Chris' incompetence could affect Barb's health.

In a medical emergency, 911 operators will talk you through first aid. The 10 minutes before the paramedics get there are crucial, and can make the difference between life and death. Chris is much less likely to follow the instructions well.

When elderly people develop a serious condition, the people living with them often receive formal or informal training on how to help manage the conditions, and which signs or symptoms are serious. Chris is much less likely to get this training or, if he does, be able to apply it well.

Elderly people, and my guess is that Barb is a shining example of this, can get stubborn about things like taking their medication or getting symptoms checked out. Chris is not going to do a good job fighting Barb about this.

Basically, Barb gets older Chris will end up, by default, having to take more and more of a caretaker role. He is an idiot, and could fuck it up in any number of ways. Some of these ways are dangerous.

Does the farms have a contingency plan in place incase some shitty youtuber like leafy covers Chris and floods the place with critical levels of weenery?

Chris goes hard on a hobby and then drops it. Impulse happened to be that hobby. That and we don't know he isn't going. Could just be that Chris doesn't mention it anymore. Chris does all sorts of shit that isn't documented.
