Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

I know but I think I may have missed those episodes or it's just been a long time since I seen it. That's why I didn't mention it. It would be hypocritical for me to judge that role when I haven't seen it or it's been a long time that I can't remember.
Fair enough. Still pretty distracting when you really boil it down. Her voice doesn't really change from either three characters. Even in her sole album, Hayley Sings, you can literally hear Eris cover "Makin' Whooppee," "Sooner or Later" or "Do You Wanna Dance" rather than Hayley herself and it wouldn't make a difference.

Well some voice actors get voice work simply because of their voice despite not having a lot of range like Patrick Warburton or John O'hurley for instance.

Through I don't think she fits in that category to be honest

Patrick Warburton and H. Jon Benjamin get respective free passes for me. Nobody hires them expecting to change their voice ranges. People hire the two because they hire the two.

I'd say Rachael MacFarlane's voice acting is pretty much the female equivalent to Billy West where voice ranges don't really change. West pretty much has the same voice range in Ren & Stimpy as the titular duo, CatDog as Rancid Rabbit, Futurama as Fry, Zoidberg, Farnsworth and Zapp and even in commercials such as the Red M&M or the Honey Nut Cheerios.

That sounds about right. I find Billy West to be one of the few voice actors who can't surprise me when I hear a cartoon character and they sound like Billy West.

Now for a voice actor who has surprised me in the past has to be Tom Kenny. There has to be several roles where I didn't realize it was him until looking it up.

Oh yea, Tom Kenny is a delight. Sure, he might look like some typical soyboy, but deep inside, he's a very chill, down-to-earth and, let alone, hilarious guy as seen in behind the scenes, cons, interviews and the works.

But going back to Rachael, she's also seen as a very hilarious, very down-to-earth fella herself as seen in behind the scenes or interviews. Still, Kenny shows more charisma and more vocal energy when playing his characters.

Teen Titans Go was liked by its target audience and mainly hated by adult autists for not being the original
The three times ttg didn't suck big time.

That animated music video episode.

The movie which in some ways deconstructed everything wrong with the show and DC as a whole.

That crossover episode with beetlejuice. They got the tone of the 90s cartoon, references to the Tim Burton movie, AND the voice actor for beetlejuice from the broadway show (and fizoralli from helluva boss)

I haven't seen anything bad about Bill Fagerbakke either.

Tom Kenny sounds like a cool guy whenever I see him in interviews especially when he talks about how much he loves that his work brings families together.

I'll always remember the episode of Marc Maron's podcast with Tom Kenny as guest star and his true story of how he came up with SpongeBob's voice

Holy shit I never knew that story. That's honestly funny. I wonder if the guy Kenny is describing other catch on to the fact one of the most popular cartoon characters in recent decades is based off him.

It saddens me that he's probably going to be stuck in Spongebob jail for the rest of his life
At least that'll pay for his grandkids' grandkids' expensive colleges though, hopefully

Tuff puppy was underrated. It was the last time butch put any serious effort into the writing, and the last time guy moon put effort into the music he had for butch (even if the theme was more or less a ripoff of secret agent man)

Duddley: duh he's disguised as the pipe organ.

Chief: no every cell has a pipe organ.

Kitty: why can't you be more like a cat? Determined and focused and...MOUSE!

And Darrin Norris as the chameleon doing a Peter Lorre impression.

Chameleon: I will now shape-shift into a smoldering pile of goo...fear me!

I honestly loved Tuff Puppy. Chameleon was the funniest villain in my opinion. It sucks that after that Butch last Nickelodeon cartoon would suck hard.

I still can't believe that Verminous Snaptrap's voice actor became a trannie later on.

Wait what?!

One search later

Holy fucking ass crackers matt Taylor trooned out?! Damn I think THAT is the real reason butch left in 2018. His devotion to Christianity means he'd never work with a Troon. And get this he voiced a character on loud house who trooned out as well (though it wasn't addressed directly on the show as far as I can tell)

Guess it's fitting he voiced snaptrap, evil begets evil after all.

Also... wow nick just keep piling on more reasons for me to grow distant from you and lose any hope of you ever being decent ever again. I mean CN gave the world Steven Universe and the gay rock people from space and while gross girls is shaping up to cross the "obsession with periods" threshold started by turning red (or possibly big mouth depending on your perspective) they still have yet to cross the threshold of having a openly Troon character in their shows and you did that behind my back...if only on a technicality.
