Sorry if this is already been explained but wouldn't Keffals need a vista to live in Northern Ireland, and as far as I'm aware has no right to UK citizenship. Fell like him being illegal immigrant if I haven't got my facts wrong is a important point of the story.

Keffals revealed awhile ago they're eligable for Italian Citizenship because his Italian grandparents gave birth to his mother prior to becoming a Canadian citizen. Keffals has expressed the desire to get an EU passport multiple times and it seems this is now being something actively worked towards.
Getting an Italian passport ain't that hard when you have the proper documentation of your ancestry updated and at hand. Considering he's just two generations away from Italian citizens, he can get it ASAP.

Every EU member state has still it's own passports but it says "EU passport" plus the name of the country in the country's language on the cover. Like German/Austrian passports say "Europäische Union" besides "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" / "Republik Österreich".
So if he get's an Italian passport he kind of has an EU passport. A German passport is an EU passport. A French passport is an EU passport.

A few housing policies is a far cry from Marxism, actual Marxists vote for the Worker's Party. Even in terms of other social democrat parties Sinn Féin is the least economically focused. They're incredibly centre-left.
