Some part of antinatalism, is the philosophical idea that by bringing babies in the world, you are committing the action of "subjecting them to pain" since existence brings natural suffering, another "argument" they use is that babies aren't consenting to be put in this world, thus aren't consenting to their pain. I think a great part of anti natalism is a VERY nihilistic view of the world, it's a very fucked up philosophy, of course these redditors prefer "saving" these babies, probably as a reason to keep living, if not, their own ideology would tell them to kill themselves to no longer endure the "pain of existence".

Nevermind the fact that obviously there is more to life than suffering, and a also that big part of life is overcoming said suffering to achieve happiness, and also that an existence without suffering would have absolutely no meaning, why do you think the comfort and safety of the first world drives many to meaninglessness and depression ?

My province was strict on lockdowns but was good in keeping all the beaches and parks open during that and encouraging people to get exercise and fresh air. Yeah, Catholic and Orthodox have an enormously detailed set of beliefs for why "_____" is bad. You can typically read Augustine, Aquinas, Origen, John Chryostostem and come away with a better idea of why Western Society has these unspoken principles, even if you don't really agree with Christianity.
