I have a friend who named one of his kids after his favorite author.I'm named after a random book character my parents liked
I'm named after both of my grandmothers. I'm the fourth generation to have "xxxxx" as my middle name. I feel really guilty about not having a daughter to pass the name onto, but me having a kid would be such an almighty shitshow due to various health issues that I'd probably lose legal custody while they're still a toddler. On topic of childhood trauma: one of my names is an amalgamation of the first two letters of all of my 4 grandparents's first names

I was named after my dad's favourite band, and when I was a baby he apparently forced me to listen to one of their albums. I don't remember it, I take his word on it though.I have a friend who named one of his kids after his favorite author.
That's really impressive. I think the longest I've gone is five days. Slept for 48 hours afterwards.Longest I've gone without sleep was about a week.
I started hallucinating like a motherfucker.
Tbf the sleep I did get after that week was the best sleep I ever hadThat's really impressive. I think the longest I've gone is five days. Slept for 48 hours afterwards.
I was a screaming insomniacs until I was eighteen and put on meds for something else entirely, but those meds had the happy side effect of putting me to sleep. When I was a kid I'd just lie there in the dark until the rest of the family were snoring, and then I'd get up and just walk around the house in the dark. I wasn't being creepy, I was just so bored. For some reason my mother had the psychic ability of knowing when I turned on my bedroom light on even though us kids and our parents slept on the opposite sides of the house, and she'd be out of bed and at my door to rouse on me in three seconds flat, but she never woke up while I was taking my 3am walks. No one did. To this day my brother says I must have dreamed them because he's convinced that he would have heard me and woken up. The reason he never heard me is because what little noise I made was drowned out by his impressive snore volume. God, I wish there'd been such a thing as a Kindle back then. Being able to at least read would have saved me from that crushing boredom.Tbf the sleep I did get after that week was the best sleep I ever had
Yeah I was a Big insomniac too. Part of the reason I developed a Xanax addiction in my teens is because I had chronic panic attacks and issues with sleeping so I took two 5 mgs a day.I was a screaming insomniacs until I was eighteen and put on meds for something else entirely, but those meds had the happy side effect of putting me to sleep. I don't get nearly as many night terrors as I used to, but I still refuse to share a bed in case I wake in the middle of the night to find myself strangling my bed mate. I think I've been forced to share a bed maybe twice in the past twenty four years. I used to when i was a kid and early teenager, but when I got to my late teens it suddenly clicked that if I wasn't careful, I could do someone a great deal of violence and be effectively still asleep when I did so. I'm slightly over halfway through my statistical lifespan and I haven't hurt anyone... yet.I don't thin i've ever gone a night without a vivid nightmare since I was 10.
Same deal with me, it’s why I keep my gun inside my nightstand and not on top of it anymore.I don't get nearly as many night terrors as I used to, but I still refuse to share a bed in case I wake in the middle of the night to find myself strangling my bed mate.
