On that note of hating the movie "sight unseen" I remember Bob being none too pleased when the announcement of the movie was made and that it was gonna be made by the same people that did Minions. He kinda memory holed that and speaking of memory holes!

At 13:00 he does an epic dunk on some cultural warrior that I've never heard of by stopping the video for TWO GODDAMNED MINUTES to cope away the fact that Marvel movies, SAVE FOR FUCKING ONE IN 2021 THAT MADE ALMOST TWO BILLION DOLLARS THAT HE NEVER EVEN ACKNOWLEDGES, have gotten pretty hefty diminishing returns since End Game on the coof with incredible sanctimoniousness and righteous indignation, "Uhh can you think of anything that happened in the past few years that would've explained this?". This is what happens when people who think like teenage girls get ahold of media companies. Spoiler: Female character sperging

One of my favourite characters in fiction is Amy Dunne in Gone Girl. I've not read the book, only seen the film, but the reason I like the character is that she's threatening in a way that makes sense for a woman to be. She's not physically exceptional (in terms of strength) but she's still incredibly dangerous working within her own means. She also gets robbed and ends up having to ask her creepy ex for help because she's fucked up (so she's not infallible). The film has plenty wrong with it, but I wish there were more female characters more like this, but someone decided the only kind of kickass had to be literal kicking ass instead of playing to different strengths.

On the other side, I also like the Bride in Kill Bill. Now yes, she is a physically kickass character, but that still involves fucking up and training along the way. Plus that kind of female character was less common back when Kill Bill was made, so she felt more like the exception that that kind of character should be, rather than the basic template flawless "strong female lead" it's turned into today.
