I suspect, like myself, people were becoming increasingly aware through social media that they weren't being informed about certain topics and YT was just a faster highway to receive such information and educated perspectives without having to sift through the literal filth that is American media.

I believe you are projecting your motivations onto the rest of the thread. You feel (perhaps justifiably so) that you were wronged by Nick and his community and you want him to pay.
