Having seen some dashcam of what benzo + alcohol DUI looks like from behind, we can only hope he drinks booze and downs bars because it's one of easiest ways to catch a bad DUI or kill yourself by plowing into an upright object near the side of the road as you drift in and out of motor control while behind the wheel.

Query performance degradation
Resolved - By adjusting our service startup procedure to better ensure the process is ready to handle queries before it enters service, the query delays surrounding deploys appear to have been reduced to be below baseline noise. Though the excessive delays were a recent symptom, there had been minor query delays (small enough to remain within our SLO budget) showing up during every deploy for a long time. The recent failures pushed us to take action and resolve this long-standing SLO burn.

Update - While we don’t have a definitive answer explaining this incident yet, we have multiple threads to pull on. Additional changes are queuing up to improve the capacity of the system. Since the system is stable, we are pausing status updates for the time being.

Investigating - We have recently been actively re-balancing the capacity of our query engine cluster. Doing so came in with degradation of performance during our deployment windows, which translate themselves into slower queries (regular queries, as well as those from boards and through the API), a small number of partially delayed SLO notifications and a small number of missed triggers (~3%) today. We have stabilized the cluster for now and we are actively seeking ways of managing further capacity changes with fewer customer-facing impacts.

I think Shim Dong Long-Gone controls his drinking. He knows the risks of overplaying his hand. Keffals and Ralph are a contrast in how to handle your obvious pill problems. Drug addiction is turning into a status symbol. There's pretty much no evidence outside of his own words that he uses hard drugs. I think Keffals is lying about being a drug addict, too. It checks a box that allows them to claim support from another protected group and it gives them an excuse for acting like sadistic assholes. Addiction is universally viewed in his circles as a super serious disease and you can't give people a hard time that have a disease, otherwise you're ablist. Lying about being an addict is really easy because someone has to break medical confidentiality laws to prove you're lying. Drugs = no agency = never having to take responsibility for your actions. Substance abuse also carries extra benefits for "women" because when two drunk people hook up, the man can always be accused of rape. If someone were accusing me of sexually assaulting them and I was a "woman," saying I was inebriated at the time would make a lot of people think I was a victim.

Liz Fong-Jones claims to have some kind of autoimmune disorder that's harming his eyes, but he's pretty vague about it. I kinda agree with this post:

Has Dong-Gone mentioned specifically which autoimmune disease he's (allegedly) suffering from? I'm curious, but also skeptical. He claims he was prescribed methotrexate for a minimum of 3 years, when adalimumab or infliximab are more commonly used to treat non-infectious uveitis/iritis. Methotrexate is prescribed to treat autoimmune diseases like RA and lupus, which can cause uveitis/iritis, but afaik, he's only complained about his eyes.

It's worth mentioning that every munchie on the internet who claims to have an autoimmune disease also claims to be on methotrexate, because they can say shit like, "it's a chemotherapy drug," which makes their situation sound very grave. Uveitis/iritis usually has an underlying cause and I'd like to know if Elliot has ever mentioned what is causing his.

If he's genuinely ill and going blind, that sucks. But I wouldn't be surprised if he just has computer vision syndrome or some shit.
