I have always found him saying that the 'exposure' that people get for appearing on his show to be payment enough to be somewhat off putting. He wasn't wrong but it sounded so pompous
That's morally reprehensible behavior akin to slave interns at EA.
Hans, get the zyclon-B flammenwerfer.

I'm pretty curious about that myself. If you look at elissa's comments these days its LOADED with detractors. Even a few months ago it wasn't quite that intense. The #KickNick market is really growing.
I can't get the quote to work properly on your other post, but Hartman is a minor lolcow. Been around since 2016 as one of the biggest Nintendo fanboys I've ever seen.

As to the detractors, Nick has several groups and boy the list is long:
1) The troon brigade (Keffals, Dylan)
2) The Comicsgate enemies (TIC is the best example)
3) Sophie Long Karens
4) The former fans (Cynthia)
5) The Montagraph/Greer types which he may have defamed
6) His local neighborhood fellers (In vein of Monty's lawyer)
7) The election was 100% fraud free types
8 ) The guv (He's beginning to act like a MKULTRA project lol)
9) The e-thot white knights
10) The hardcore MGTOW types that hate drexel
He's got a loong list.

I remember this specifically coming up in chat/superchats when the money was pouring in during Rittenhouse and Nick had his daily panel of LawTubers that we first were introduced to.

Nick is probably right that it would be hard to set up any sort of revenue sharing agreement that would be fair and not break down in petty infighting.

But as mentioned, it's also pretty disingenuous to handwave away that he got rich while all his Internet friends donated weeks of their time for free to make his trial content what it was, by justifying it with the defense that he "goes on other people's shows sometimes".

I say wasn't because his show is shrinking and his brand is all bukkake'd now. Don't think he's got a leg to stand on for much longer on that claim.
He DID quietly mention early on in Rittenhouse in the middle of one of Joe's annoying-as-fuck "Please give me money" diatribes to the audience that he planned on paying/sharing the money with the panel.

But I highly doubt that ever happened.

The one element you're missing is the lawsuit. In the next month we should expect to find out whether Monty's case is dismissed or if he's allowed to advance into discovery. If Nick loses he will be apoplectic.
The day that comes out or we get the divorce arc, if anyone beats me to the community happenings please post with the following:
Sehen sie, alte kameraden, das nase ist gebrochen!
Look, old comrades, the nose is broken!

His vocal detractors are really such a small number of people that they can't possibly be the reason for his decline in numbers.
Your overall point is relatively on point. Your math and understanding of how social media/public opinion works is not.

Elissa regularly gets 1000+ views - best barometer - on a Nick indicting clip. Her channel is known to be a critical forum atp (as long as Nick allows her to survive).

Let's assume, conservatively, 200 of those are real detractors (based on comment #s) in different forms. They're here, they're on LawTube channels across chats, they're on Twitter - probably elsewhere. They're keeping track. They know the facts.

200 people with different intonations of shrill and calling it out - Drex grooming, Still-Life fedposting, freeze peach hypocrocy, peeps grossed out at the I-wanna-fuck Mandy shit, a general agreement that Nick's Locals is trash, randos from the past dramas - creates an avalanche of next-level people.

Then, guess what? Several thousand just quietly leave.

That quiet group is informed by people speaking out. It's how most politics and public opinion works. OFC it's due to Nick's behavior but neither lives in isolation.

I can't even quantify the multiplication effect of those 200 people along with Nick's spiraling but it seems to be a solid -30%ish+ in viewership and -50%ish in Rumblerants/Superchats.

These types of posts to me are the most demonstrative of the turn Nick has taken. He's a Lawtuber who used to provide regular information on legal matters in a digestible way and answered/corrected interesting legal questions when they came up.

Now his biggest fans don't have a basic understanding of the law, or logic. Person goes missing, Sally is a suspect. Sally plants a bunch of endangered plants right above where she buried the body. Police notice freshly planted, endangered plants on her property. Police get a warrant. Police dig up the body. Sally gets dragged off to jail saying "But you can't do that". His audience has legal knowledge as broad and deep as a sovereign citizen these days.

People in general know very little about the law.

I believe a few other YTbers (Emily Baker and Kurt) can cram a few legal concepts into normie head, as an exception, but I think it only proves the rule.

Mout never get past 'I know my rights!' or 'Am I being detained?'

Nick never leaned heavily into the education aspect. He pontificated on his own (often wrong) leag interpretation and got wrecked by his lack of trial experience and motion practice.

This is what happens when you cater to "the bottom of the barrel." Yes, free speech is great and should be promoted, but his entire chat is now a bunch of sovereign citizens shit posting, who also berate guests when they come on. This bottom of the barrel audience has also infected other Nick related creators like Good Lawgic.

In a stream the other night where Joe had Dr. B as a guest (woman who got famous for leaving the Democratic party, then ran for NH Governor -- Joe couldn't even do a simple google search on her), the chat literally was just sperging out, calling her fat and every other name in the book because she didn't agree with Joe. She even stops to tell Joe she's never seen a chat that insane, and her audience is much different -- her chats want intelligent disagreements with facts. She tells him when she sees people shit posting in her chats, she blocks them. Joe accuses her of wanting to be in an echo chamber -- she says that she gets criticism all the time and welcomes it. She just doesn't tolerate shit posting and spam. Joe can't comprehend this because he is so worried about the numbers that he'll allow anything.

Nick has to remind every guest who comes on don't read chat, saying chat is brutal. Is that not embarrassing? Your audience doesn't know how to behave? This is why he has the same shitty guests on all the time now. When Nick had Kyle Rittenhouse on, the level of retardation seen by chat was next level. SIDE NOTE: You could tell Nick didn't even prep for the interview because Kyle was very short in his answers because Kyle's going through a lawsuit! Then Nick asking him "Balls or No Balls" -- Kyle had the look of "Why the fuck did I come on this show!" because I'm sure he and his legal team assumed a lawyer would be professional. Color me shocked if Rittenhouse never goes on his show again.

Compare Nick to someone like Emily D Baker. Both with major followings, but both grew their channels and chats differently. Her mods block people in 5 seconds if they shit post in chat. While her chat might not be "free speech" like what Nick preaches -- she's been the most to grow since the Rittenhouse and Depp trial. EDB started around 225k at Rittenhouse. EDB now sits at 723k -- Nick stagnantly sits at 470k give or take. Maybe keeping assholes out of chat and actually covering trials like you give a shit brings in more subs? I don't ever remember EDB going off bitching about covering the Murdach trial, screaming she's bored, while still collecting superchats.

We're now seeing lawtuber Dani Ahn Direct get strict with her chats, going the EDB route. In a stream during the Lori Vallow verdict, Dani said she didn't want fights in the chat and she'd block people. You could see who came from Nick's audience because they all went full retard yelling free speech. These idiots can't comprehend that a YouTube channel isn't the government and a creator doesn't have to tolerate their infant behavior.

My entire point: When you cater to "the bottom of the barrel" --- you eventually become "the bottom of the barrel" yourself, and we've seen that slowly happen. It's why we're all here. We've watched him fall to the degenerate levels of his own chat, thinking he'd still be loved by all. Those with a brain and basic etiquette see the trash he and his show have become... bottom of the barrel.

This is a very astute observation. I believe that a lot of the lawtube sphere embraced the freeze peach chat model becuase it appeared to be so successful for Nick. At that point, cross promotion worked well because other creator streams were a place to continue to do the shitposting that they did in Nick's chat. Very often, the chat was doing something COMPLETELY different than what Nick was talking about.

Joe used to try to do more cerebral and thoughtful content, but he got caught up trying to be Nick-lite and has reddit tier debates exacerbated by boomerism. He needs to break free of it if he wants to go anywhere.

I think Branca was the first notable example (besides Emily) who actually took the business side seriously. People lose their minds when he disagrees with them or blocks them on Twitter. It is almost as if you need some minimum standard to keep the place tidy...

The metastisised Nick audience predated the 24 hour LOCALS chat, and you might think that they would just migrate there, but Nick stunning was able to piss off his old audience and DISCORD enough that he somehow got WORSE people into that degenerate chat. No longer are they MGTOW weebs and dorks, we have heavily medicated women, degenerate voyeurs, and fedposters.

Nick managed to make too much of a good thing with the LOCALS chat and simultaneously drive away the bulk of his audience. A lot of the people in chat and DISCORD were no longer interested in Nick's content, but they definitely bulked put his numbers and superchats. He shot himself in the foot.

I posted earlier about Nick-lite Joe the other night...

Here is the response from Dr. B in regards to the audience. Let's be clear here, 85-90% of Joe's audience is from Rekieta. (For reference, Joe has 90k -- She has 107k and blocks people). Joe also accused her of only caring about the numbers, to which she immediately refuted saying she could give a fuck about the numbers. She cares about civil mature discourse.

Joe gave the appearance and impression that he was learned in the law and provided some informative legal commentary thanks to his law and orthodox jew background. It was pretty obvious he was a Nick simp from the very start as he mentioned many times in streams how he's so grateful and thankful for his friend Nick and how he tried to emulate some of Nick's edginess. Dunno about you but he's fake and too tryhard.

2020 Nick Rekieta: I'm just dressing up in booty shorts and cat ears for the grift

2021 Nick Rekieta: I'm just asking balls or no balls... for the grift

2022 Nick Rekieta: I'm just starting a winemom coom den for the grift guys :tomgirl:

2023 Nick Rekieta: FUCK THE GRIFT, IF YOU WANT THE GRIFT GET THE HELL OUT THE GRIFT IS DEAD THERE IS ONLY COOM

Guys I'm starting to believe the GRIFTtm may have just been a ruse for Nick's other intetions.

I watched Joe for a short time and found him somewhat entertaining when he focused on law. It didn't last long though because he waxes philosophical in such a goofy and often arrogant way that it became too grating to look past. He seems to view himself as some great thinker and it's beyond dull.

Here is the response from Dr. B
Just wondering, are you aware that Karlyn herself is a lolcow that has her own thread here and can be simply described as unhinged and recently shown to be pedo guarding her convicted ex bf? She gets into massive sperg fights into everyone she makes contacts with.

Wellllllllll shiiiiiiiiiit! Thank you for the info. I'm definitely going to be following that thread. It's kind of funny one lolcow calling out another's lolcow audience. The irony...

Your math and understanding of how social media/public opinion works is not.
Math and sociology lessons from a goofy old bitch off her meds? Don't mind if I do!

So no actual math to back up your claim someone else doesn't understand math, this sentence shows you don't understand the difference between a noun and adjective, and should take your fucking meds.

Not getting in any way attached to strangers on the Internet who don't give a fuck about you is also a good option.

Your point about chat being insane stands, but Borysenko is a full on nut case. Her thread, good OP:

Edit: damn, late

Another observation I've had in the coming months...
Himedall:
The metastisised Nick audience predated the 24 hour LOCALS chat, and you might think that they would just migrate there, but Nick stunning was able to piss off his old audience and DISCORD enough that he somehow got WORSE people into that degenerate chat.
Ever since Nick birthed the 24/7 chat via LOCALS -- kiss of death. Discord was known to be his degenerate cave of lovable weirdos. But a 24/7 chat is asking for trouble. Why do I say this...

When an audience has the opportunity to speak to the creator during a show via chat, chat is seen as a luxury. If you really want the creator to get your attention = superchat. (Notice how his superchats and rumble rants are next to nothing compared to post-Rittenhouse and post-Depp.) Now with a 24/7 LOCALS chat, it's no longer a luxury. Notice how the LOCALS chat gets mad when he doesn't pay attention to them? They expect his attention.

Again, I look at creators like Emily D Baker whose manager reformatted her YouTube as a BUSINESS. She only streams Tuesdays and Thursdays. No LOCALS, no Discord. Just her YouTube and merch website. Her chat is a luxury -- If you misbehave, privileges get taken away = blocked. Also, having a livestream 2 days a week makes the content better. If I were Nick's manager (which he'll never get one because he couldn't lower himself to someone smarter telling him what to do) Nick should cut to 3 days a week. Livestreaming every night shows it's shit. Dialing it back will give a day for him to actually prep good content that an audience would WANT to watch.

With Nick's model of freeze peach, a Discord, and a 24/7 chat that's now unruly and expecting Nick's attention, many people will resort to doing the dumbest things TO get his attention. Hence wine mom nudey pics. It's a chat that ultimately controls Nick -- not the other way around. Yes, chat is always right -- but chat also shouldn't control you. Nick is between a rock and a hard place -- If he starts implementing rules to get a handle on chat and possibly gain subs, he goes against his preach of freeze peach, and may ultimately create a new set of "freeze peach detractors." If he lets chat go hog wild in the name of freeze peach, he is at the mercy of the chat... 24/7.
