  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I was just thinking back to when /r/CringeAnarchy was banned and came across this post. I used to have a good laugh when it would make it to /r/all.

REDDIT REFUGEES NOT WELCOME
KEEP MOVING
People on Reddit barely know how to torrent, let alone how to fucking use Tor. I have seen the redditt refugees go to 4chan though. That must be fucking wild.
corpojannies won't go anywhere though, and they're worse than trannies.
Corpo jannies are some of the most pathetic people in existence. The prime corpojanny is a Twitch-mod who came in their pants after getting a hug from a female streamer and admitting it on camera. That's the level of humanity you're dealing with with corpojanitors.

You are just salty that null never touched you...

I think this is a good development. the powermods just cant keep the site runing on their own and new jannies will be even lazyer and less fit to mod than those who are now getting shitcanned.

That's only partly correct. There's the "AutoModerator", a bot by Reddit itself which mods use to moderate. They basically only set a few configurations and it performs automatic actions. Mods have no leverage here, because Reddit has all the configurations.

The second is that some/ most jannies have third party moderation tools which are more capable than AutoModerator and which Reddit don't control. But most of them relied on Pushshift, a third party database and indexing of reddit content. But around 1 or 2 months ago reddit banned Pushshift and it was shut down.

That's part of the reason for this "protest", because reddit deactivated their moderation tools.

How the fuck did leftoids get so clueless at how industrial actions work?
Probably because the only left they are is culturally and that's only because it's the most comfortable, vogue position to be in when terminally online at this very moment. These people have barely, if ever, worked. They're not the working class; they tend to despise people who are working class. They've never had class consciousness because they've been on a constant drip-feed of the parental/governmental teet for their entire existence with no actual threat of change. They are the landlords of their little virtual domains who hate actual landlords because those guys demand money like evil capitalists (the Internet said those were bad).
Nothing in the life of the gigajanny is real, so it's easy to become divorced from reality

The only leftist (not liberals calling themselves leftists) sub I've found is r/stupidpol.
I don't know about now, these days they seem to be overrun by rightoids overly concerned with the culture war. There's a bunch of threads about material conditions, laws and real shit affecting the working class and they barely get any attention, but a thread about minor idpol infractions? A thousand updoots.

Still it's better than the rest of reddit concerning left-wing politics. Which isn't saying that much.

If Reddit dies it would be funny to witness how Kiwi Farms, one of the most persecuted websites, outlives it.
If reddit dies, the internet will become much poorer for it. It's almost impossible to search for anything without appending "reddit" at the end of it because the internet has become so shit and streamlined.

Stupidpol is 70% liberals pretending to be leftists and 30% rightwinger refugees.

The difference is that unlike most liberals they are actually good at pretending to be leftists. I know, this because I've been using stupidpol for about 5 years.
stupidpol and redscarepod both sort of out themselves when they start talking about what they do for work.

Nobody's putting up drywall. It's like a bunch of computer touchers and trust fund kids. Their "leftism" seems to be some kind of self-hatred.

I hate to admit it but this is 100% correct. Putting aside the fedora tipping autism reddit exudes, it does have some of the most helpful commentors when it comes to specific issues related to computers. The Microsoft forum is full of bots that all say the same bullshit (reinstall windows, that will help your oddball error) and the only other helpful guide is some pajeet on youtube who can barely speak English.
I had an issue related to a texture problem in Skyrim yesterday and aside from now dead reddit links, no one else could fix the issue.
Killing reddit is a monkey's paw: sure you get to bask in the losers reee-ing about losing their hugbox, but issues only redditors knew how to fix are now unfixable.

so is reddit till protesting for 2 days.
won't do shit
if they agreed to do it for one month though, that might actually have teeth. a lot of activity just gone.
though spez could forcibly open them back up if he felt like it.
After the site proceeded to ignore their gay little protest, a lot of the subreddits modded by powerjannies decided they're going "indefinite", aka maybe another week before reddit admins just demod the lot of them and hand the bigger subreddits off to other users.

The mod thread where they decided that is hilarious, btw. A few idiots modding nsfw subs decided to declare that their fringe porno subreddit was going indefinite and it invited a shitload of trolls to start posting increasingly gross, fringe sub names (that half of the time didn't exist) and declare they were ALSO going indefinite. Shit like /r/zebracocks or /r/stumpjobs.

One of my favorite mostly unremembered ones was when people would post earthquake footage or similar things, just raiding the YouTube video threads and accusing them of faking it and saying things like "fuck off with this you're obviously just shaking the camera" and stuff like that.
My Favourite was when some guy made a thread asking /b/ to prank his friend and they did this by mass reporting to his school that he was about to shoot up the place.

I know tranny jannies are ignorant children who live in an idealized fantasy world constantly but I can’t believe they were THIS ignorant. Did you really think the corporate conglomerate was going to just let you fuck around with their money making schemes?

When the fuck are you mongs going to get it? The only colour these people will ever see is green, no matter how many rainbow flags they throw up for you. You are and forever will be a marketing demographic. They are not your friends. No amount of protestation will ever change the human capacity for greed.
The other absolutely stupid thing they don't realize is that companies are dumb as fuck, but they DO react.

And now reddit the company realizes that "holyshit, powermods can just privatize or delete massive portions of our business".

I'mma say it now - within the year the private/delete functions will only work with admin approval, or with all mods approving, or something similar.

When you reveal a power move, expect it to be permanently countered.

This is the first thing Reddit has done to make me like them. Mod temper tantrums can be milked for the foreseeable future. Maybe they can all go back to tumblr?
Pretty sure all the tumblr users went to Twitter after they banned coom material. Reddit was full of degens all around before Tumblr even banned anything. Taking all the tumblr users out would not improve things.
