Diseased Sanctioned Suicide - "Kill yourself" but unironically with sodium nitrite. Higher death count than the Farms. Targeted by parents, legislators, and journalists looking to alter Section 230.

I still feel that to some extent the forum should not exist -- or it should, but under a different administration and with more solid rules. I get that society shouldn't treat suicide as some dark untouchable taboo, and I agree that for some people suicide is objectively good. But talking about suicide and really seriously contemplating its consequences is completely different to having fifty threads a day about how dark and meaningless life is and how human beings are inherently evil from the same ten anime profiles.
In a perfect world, it wouldn't exist, but in ours, it's probably at least marginally better that it does exist than that it doesn't. I think it can definitely be bad for mental health to expose yourself to continual obsessive doomposting, but others are probably helped by just knowing other people out there are feeling the same thing.

In any event, you wouldn't even be on such a site if you were looking for vapid platitudes and being told condescendingly that everything is gonna be all right when it very well may never be.

Lmao wtf is this shit? [A]

NO NO NO PFHAHAHAHAHA
THE VERY SECOND PARAGRAPH IS ALREADY COMPARING LIFE TO BINGE-WATCHING GOYSLOP TV SHOWS HAHAHAHA

The absolute state of SS a-logs, lmao - this is like a kindergarten-tier motivational speech, almost as bad as what you'd hear from a psychiatrist. It's not even coherent from one paragraphs to another, looks more like a compilation of loose thoughts barely related to life, death and suicide.

I guess it unintentionally managed to sort of achieve its goal because it is so stupid it brightened my mood from laughing at this dogshit motivational manifesto.

My favorite part was ending it with a bible verse, as if the majority of the people on SS (or anybody seriously looking to end it all) really gives a shit about what the bible says.
EDIT:
"After thinking very hard for a long time, I discovered...instant gratification bad!"
Truly the finest mind of our generation. Who else could divine such hidden truths?
This reads like a 14 year old got drunk and started writing down his supreme wisdom, throwing the towel with a random bible quote on page one.
Not gonna lie, I quit reading at the “god-given gifts” part, and even then I was skimming it and not really reading it. Thank you for confirming that this entire thing is just as dumb as I had thought it was.
The point is, not too long after his SS ban he found his way here and began putting up an autistic show about how stupid and evil and delusional and gay and pickyourfuckingfighter his former home is.
Oh, so it’s that guy with the savior complex that showed up earlier in the thread… I didn’t know he was also that Beacon dude. My bad, I can’t keep up well beyond basic events.

I did think of the guy with the savior complex when I half-assedly skimmed this shit, but there could well be many others like him associated with SS. It is literally the best place for savior complexes to converge and live out their purpose in life.
I'm very curious about how long it will take the fixers to get tired of his bullshit too.
I don’t think they will, they’re very deranged as can be seen in this thread (both screenshots and their own posts here), they don’t seem to care about what people do/say, as long as they agree with them. Unless he opposes one of them, they’ll tolerate his ass being around.

I want to add that SS should not be shut down not just because they and Farms are in the same boat and the SS A-Logs won't stop until they sanitise the whole internet, but also because the SS is full of tasty cows who provide great milk.
It's pretty obvious that 1, 2 percent of its' users will off themselves at most, while the rest will be sperging how the world is literally Fourth Reich for not building gay space communism and respecting trannies (FuneralCry supposedly is one bad day away from suicide yet has made 20k posts in 3 years), plus all the fags, trannies and faggy nihilists and cynics got their own batch of fresh meat after Spergacrul's video and posting, and I don't know about you, but I like laughing at retards and posting here and I want to be able to do that for at least two decades more.
Spergacrul and all the "grieving" Karens should eat a tranny FTM dick and get their greasy fat hands off Section 230.
Oh, and didn't these very same people cried how Trump wanted to repeal it for being laughed at? How the turns tabled!

totally. but I don't think suicide as a topic is either "life is meaningless, humans are evil, being a troon is horrible and yet so special" or "life gets better, look at the bright side of things, think positive, suicide is bad". you can and should engage the topic of suicide in a more mature and sensible way than "what's your favorite way to self harm?", "my micropenis is all that is bad with the world," "I want to kill myself to spite my parents," which are absolutely topics I've seen over and over again. it's completely puerile. I dare say it's got nothing to do with suicide, even. SS paves the way for a lot of self-centered, myopic, solipsist masturbation _which is not even engaged with_ in a mature way. it's screaming into a void and receiving fifty posts saying 'same bro'. does that actually make people feel better? I'm pretty sure I can be myopic in my perspective as well, but I know that a lot of users I've talked to share my perspective.

it's completely puerile.
People are dumb, they vent about dumb shit. Anyone who posted that shit here would be relentlessly mocked and possibly even doxed, or made a mod if they were funny about it. Or possibly made a mod and then doxed. All of this happens.

There is no such thing as a forum where people don't say retarded shit.

The site has been blocked in Italy, Germany and Australia and has been for a couple of years now.
I noticed that you were reading the thread a few minutes ago so I'm going to respond to your claim even though it was made in an old post.

This is what the front page of SS looks like right now accessed from Australia with no VPN.

It's also not delisted from Australian Google search results.

The Leaf media appears to be obliquely namechecking the site. (archive)

This situation appears to be related to Canadian authorities going after (archive) a man in business selling sodium nitrate and sodium nitrate accessories. The site itself has been in a mild tizzy about this (example), claiming people on his mailing list are getting police visits.

I've always been amazed at the power of suppression over Leaf Media, ever since I tuned into shortwave when I was a kid and heard a whole hour of 'there's a court case going on we can't talk about so let's instead talk about how awful the US TV stations in Buffalo are for talking about this thing we can't talk about'. (found out years later it was the Homolka/Bernardo case.) Also good job naming one of your media outlets CP24, Canada.

Yeah, I saw these posts aswell. Police couldnt get search warrants because SN is still technically legal so they basically just stood awkwardly at the door and tried tricking people into handing them the substance while hurling some generic platitudes at them. I find it uncanny though, how much impact a tiny group of self-rightous Karens can have, merely by harassing public officials with spam calls and mails until they comply (sound familiar?). SN is slowly but surely becoming unavailable on the clearnet, atleast in the US - it's still fairly easy to get in Europe - and all because these moms can't admit to themselves that they suck at psrenting.

The suicide chemical is sodium nitrite, not sodium nitrate.

Selling the chemical itself for its intended use is legal, but selling it explicitly for the purpose of aiding a suicide is criminally prosecutable.

Selling sodium nitrite = legal
Providing information on suicide methods = legal (U.S. and many other places)
Selling sodium nitrite you know will be or intend to be used in a suicide = illegal most places
Medical doctor responding to request for medical assistance with "lol kill yourself" = legal in Canada

You will only fucking kill yourself when we say you can, says the Canadian monopoly on suicide.

Fingers went on autopilot, you're completely correct.

The guy's brazenness fascinates me even if it's fully legal. Which leads me to...

I told some Leafs about this situation and they went, literally 'why, just ask for MAID'. My unease about the same people who decide what medical care you get also being able to go 'lol just die' was seen as somewhat crazy.

That was a beautiful ending. 10/10 story, highly recommend. Great moral dilemma and plenty of plot twists. So refreshing to see an analysis of the site through a detached lens, well done OP.

My favorite moments:
people contemplating suicide due to terminal illness and loss of spouses/children, and this mofo bitching and moaning about how life is so bad because he can’t be a sexy teenage Korean girl.
- FC states her worldview as The Absolute Truth Which Applies To Everybody
- Somebody objects, usually politely
- FC tells the person who objects that they are a pro-lifer and they shouldn't be allowed on the site
- Other person objects more
- The FuneralCry White Knights arrive and slay everyone with their mighty swords
- R+S shows up and warns the objectors

She's autistic don't you know?
Hey StupidFaggot42 here from the Sanctioned Suicide forum just coming over for some attention because I want to kill myself.
You know what? Fuck you. It's clear my words won't be heard from the likes of you. You've already made up your mind. The only reason you're on my ass is because I defended Andrew Tate. I'm done with you.
You are a vile fucker,, you will be in court & you will prosecuted,,you and Diego,!! Do you know how many people have died ? You will pay for what you have done & what you are still doing !! Exposing people ? Is that what you find funny ?

the real reason why FuneralCry has an unhinged fetish for suicide, as seen from some of her earliest posts on SS and tinnitus

Useless Opinion Piece:
I found the conclusion to be overly sympathetic and somewhat irrelevant to what the wider story was about by how much it was being compared to KF.
Attacking SS is just another way to attack KF.
I believe this is one of those cases where correlation will not lead to causation, like some domino effect. Both groups have different mobs and different ideological oppositions, they're interests are just not as aligned.

As for SS, I think it's a miserable echo-chamber, it doesn't explicitly encourage suicide although you could argue it does so obscurely from means of suggestions ([1], [2]) and the popular pro-moralist/nihilist appeals ([1], [2]) that form the overall culture. This consequently may further influence new users to affirm and embrace their ideations to more extreme levels—I fear the younger (<25) and impulsive types will be more privy to this, because of the predominant amount of pro-suicide sentiments. There is definitely some encouragement that goes on, albeit subtly. But aside from those concerns, I think the site is a good way to cope with their problems and vent, it's a consistent testament to many of the active and older members. The ones who actually kill themselves tend to have fewer messages (under 100), those types are usually already committed to ending their life before becoming a member. None of the assertions from fixthe26 or Tantacrul hold any water, no one is actually being pushed or lured to committing suicide, however, the partner section is suspicious. Though I believe shutting down the entire site would be useless to shut it down, there's no clear benefit in doing so, it does nothing for the symptoms of suicidality, and no amount of legislation to restrict speech will fix that.

Tanatcrul's video was irresponsible and counterproductive, it ultimately did more harm than good by leading more people to the site who wouldn't have otherwise found it; it had blatantly false information and severely misrepresented the site by fearmongering and speculating. No SS member's mind was changed neither did anyone avoid seeking it out like what the video intended. Genuine dumbass.

But who cares about all that, let people kill themselves if they want to. They should just DO IT.

I might change the conclusion now that KF seems to have gotten on better hosting legs (:optimistic:). At the time I wrote that because it fits into a broader story of how people are constantly attacking and breaking apart the wider capital-I Internet just for their own petty agendas (in KF's case, because people can speak freely about transgenderism). But maybe I shouldn't have been so heavy handed.

I really appreciated this thread and how you wrote it with the most objective tone I came across in KF.
Would be interesting to see you revisiting the site as a (seemingly) level-headed person with no jio-jitsu tendencies.

A.S.H even once wrote a very in-depth manifesto justifying its existence too
ash started as a group to discuss the (probably apocryphal) idea of a spike in suicides around the holidays before it turned into what it became.

It had a certain degree of media notoriety after some fairly prominent deaths, most notably Suzy Gonzales.
I told some Leafs about this situation and they went, literally 'why, just ask for MAID'. My unease about the same people who decide what medical care you get also being able to go 'lol just die' was seen as somewhat crazy.
I strongly suspect that Canadians aren't even human. The Day of the Rake can't come soon enough.
