Plagued The Alt-Right

Well considering how lgbt people make a low percent of the world's population.
Really who fucking cares about hgtv.
No one important, but I can't even describe it. Every single time I walk out into the living room and House Hunters or something is on TV, it's anything but straight white. They actively profile minority relationships.

Aren't you automatically gay just for watching that in the first place?

Says who?
Journalistic code of ethics.

"Journalists' main goal is to ensure the right of citizens to truthful and important information, which allows them to form adequate impression about social processes, their essence and importance, about the situation in the modern world."

Since the printing press this is what's allowed society to shape itself for centuries. The freer information got, the faster change was implemented and the better quality of life got. If the only options most people have for media is controlled by self-invested entities, they're not able to adequately form opinions.

Having a bunch of gays do how-tos (or whatever they do) on a network that is gay as hell and mainly for gays isn't that distorting.

I didn't know that 100% of couples were gay, black, or interracial. Thanks for telling me.
I try not to spend too much time watching daytime TV, but I've seen plenty of straight white couples on HGTV, too. Honestly, I think it depends more on what show you're watching - the one about people living in tiny houses seems to be 99% straight white hipster-y couples in their mid-twenties. If anything, I'd guess there're more "non-standard" couples on House Hunters because there are approximately 5 billion episodes of that show, and they think showing less conventional couples makes it more "exotic" or something.

That's true, for journalism. HGTV is entertainment, not journalism. Those are two different things. If you're saying all media must conform to the Journalistic Code of Ethics, then fantasy and fiction wouldn't exist.

Doesn't stop the media from pretending they are literally a third of the population at least

Can you demonstrate anywhere in the media where this is claimed?

The media should reflect reality, not distort it.

Are you defining "media" as just news and analysis? Or are you using it in the broader sense of TV, Radio, Print and internet? If it's the latter, then no the media shouldn't always reflect reality. There's room for fantasy, fiction and entertainment that is not a precise reflection of reality.
