Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

When this thread started, Jason wasn't nearly as the "REEEEE North America, REEEEE cars" prick he is now. But what probably got him on /r/fuckcars' bad side is he was a complete douche to his fans and then his whole "my videos aren't for North Americans" despite that being his audience. And when you have that sort of spite it's only a matter of time before people start turning on you.
I've said it before, Jason has only gotten more retarded and lolcowish as time went on. Some of his very first videos actually made reasonable points I agree with if you ignored all the smug. ("No garbage day in Amsterdam" and the stop signs suck video)

But the rest have just been bad if not worse, and he's only gotten worse since then. I'd say it's a shame, that is if I hadn't already written him off as a loser by now.
His increasing desire for an ultra-safe hugbox to the point where he thinks even his own controlled Reddit isn't safe will probably lead to him nuking his YouTube channel at this rate.
He would probably just turn off the comments in all honesty, it's the only thing he complains about. He would take a hit in the algorithm but I doubt he would want to cut off his ad revenue entirely.

It remains to be seen. At some point he'll wise up or continue to set everything on fire.

I hope he nukes hid channel, one less vector to spread the anti car plague. Yeah people dislike him, not just because many of them probably have cars for work, but he offers no solutions other than "just move continents bro!". That's how you lose people, when you're angry and demand the world. If anything, it just puts one more dollar into me buying a truck

nah, I want him to succeed and survive and become more and more insane until he finally troons out. When NJB is what everyone is recommending on why we should eat the bugs, nobody will want to eat the bugs.

Road Guy Rob could convince way more people to support transit than NJB ever will. His BRT video took me from "they suck real bad" to "they might not suck somewhere".

I mean that definitely is a option lol. He troons out, goes insane, buys a F350, burns a electric car, that would be a sight to behold. He is doing damage to his own cause, I'll admit that much. I just also hate car grabbers that much too.

For example, you know the whole environmental aspect about cars guzzling gas? My brother's modern Honda Civic gets 70mpg max, usually 30 in city, though it varies. No its not a Hybrid, it's just that efficient. He's talking about those cars AND semis that haul all our food and goods around. Replaced with bikes and a inefficient train network probably powered by Hydrogen, which is quite explosive. I definitely want to keep laughing, don't get me wrong, but if he DFE's, I'm not gonna be sad

Remember this isn't his main source of income, and nuking his channel would feed his persecution complex, (e.g. "trolls are attacking my videos", etc.).

Trooning out as @reptile baht spaniard rid suggests is not as likely, as that would probably trigger divorce proceedings, and once that happens, that WILL put a dent in his income...and he'd probably DFE and vanish from the Internet before that ever happened.

They also believe that safety is when their are more people paying attention (AKA "Eyes on the Street"
There has never been much evidence in favour of this bullshit theory (although it is quite popular in cop circles to justify doing less work, especially cutting down on patrols.)
P.S. This idea was proposed in the mid 1960s
Yeah, and it was bullshit back then too.

There was a NYC police commissioner who was really into the idea though (the same retard who came up with the infamous hot take that "NYC will never have a hostage situation because the NYPD is a shoot-first force").

Can't remember the dumb fuck's name, but his pet concept belongs in the intellectual dumpster that is r/fuckcars.

I'm honestly not sure fuckcars has much gas left in its tank. This little CityNerd half-protest isn't getting spez's attention but it seems to be doing a fine job of driving off their own fanbase. If I had to explain to a child what a useless compromise looks like, I'd point at this. I know I'm not supposed to want the cow to be driven offline but for how smug they are towards detractors and how much they like to LARP as the Resisty, I really just wanna see how many of them crumple when they have to do something as complicated as switch reddits, nevermind switching sites entirely.

Apparently the mods of /r/fuckcars have a Twitter account and it is filled with stupidity:

First off the gas tax is closer to 60 cents a gallon than 6.
The F-150 gets more than 17 MPG:

Only the top trim is more than $70k and most truck owners buy lower trims.

The High Line is an abandoned rail line track in the heart of Manhattan:

Also think of all the poor black neighborhoods bulldozed for this rail line park:
Wikipedia said:
The elevated structure was dedicated on June 29, 1934, and was the first part of the West Side Improvement Project to be completed. The High Line, which originally ran from 35th Street to St. John's Freight Terminal, was designed to go through the center of blocks rather than over an avenue. As a result, the viaduct's construction necessitated the demolition of 640 buildings.

8.5 ft times two is 17 ft, not 25 ft. The aisle would be shared with four spots, not two.
Also, 675 sq ft is tiny for a 2 bedroom apartment. That's barely 1 bedroom square footage.

These are only from the first few pages of tweets. I'm sure there's more funny stuff. Have a look:

Who wants to bet this "we need affordable housing" guy hates repealing restrictions on housing like urban growth boundaries? You get no prize for guessing correctly.

Seriously though, I'm not surprised they fuck up the numbers. Though I know they will find another way to argue parking is underpriced.

You say that like living in a tiny pod is a problem for a bugman.

It's one thing to have a cargo bike the size of a car, but this design is dangerous in other ways: the kegs block visibility, being high up and way up in front

Also, nice self-own in the caption. That's precisely why we wanna transport our beer in a truck, not a cargo bike. We might not be manly, but we're efficient.

It's efficient in a truck and most of all safe. One of the first things you learn as a young motorist is good road etiquette and having something as ridiculous as a cargo bike that not only poses an increased road hazard, it also inconveniences the normal motorists, causes slowdowns etc.

They're also revealing that most zoom-zooms have no conception of masculinity whatsoever. If they did there's no way they would ever try to force me onto some rickety piece of shit cargo bike in the name of masculinity. Besides that, I thought masculinity was supposed to be a bad thing. Or is it like Christianity where it's good so long as you can use it to manipulate people into doing what you want? Typical lefty behavior, take the shaming and leave everything else.

It personally reminds me of those gun grabbers that try to claim you're a pussy for using weaponry instead of fighting off people with your bare hands, as if they unironically believe that Brock Sampson is what real men should act like. It's actually hilarious thinking that people are convinced that being inefficient in the name of doing something entirely physically is what masculinity is about and not some stereotype to deride men for wanting to do things on their own.

@Flaming Insignias

The "guns are le heckin' dishonorable" meme has always given me a laugh. I don't care how strong you think you are, if three men of average strength approach you with murderous intent they will almost certainly succeed unless you have some sort of force multiplier. Say for instance, a weapon.

And not to get too deep into the autistic weeds, but the show gives a pretty good in-universe justification for why Brock fights like that. The short version is that all the heroes and villians in the setting adhere to a sort of rules of engagement that keeps both sides equal, so Dr. Doom doesn't curbstomp some dumbass local vigilante with his death ray. So under the rules as long as Brock is fighting hand-to-hand, you can't pull out your freeze ray or your madness beam or whatever to stop him. In later seasons where he knows the opposing force is armed Brock usually went for a weapon. Yeah, he heavily prefers hand-to-hand combat over firearm combat but there's a tiny bit more to it than "le heckin' manly" like some redditors would have you believe.

Usually the "hero doesn't use gun" stories they sometimes do use them when the story calls for it. Leverage had a character who used hand-to-hand combat and melee weaponry, but uses a gun once after the villain of the week taunts him with that fact, ending with him shooting the goon and then muttering something along the lines of "I don't like guns, didn't say I couldn't use them".

That's the thing though--guns are supposed to be rarely used, without looking for trouble (or in a position where crimes happen, like managing a bodega) it's rare that you'll even see an active crime in process.

Yeah, and even so, it's not like these guys are built like heavy appliances, ready to swoop in to a crime in progress, and snap the perp's spine like a toothpick.

So this end result of soy boys failing driving tests?
No, it's a result of soyboys taking a trip to Europe and thinking everything is automatically better, as if the whole continent was Amsterdam.

When I tell these niggers that I just drove all the way across France and Spain and the highway was spectacular, fast, convenient (with places to stop with actually great food) they SEETHE.

However pozzed France might be, if you're not in the north of Paris or Marseilles or other jungle areas, it's perfectly car friendly. There are suburbs outside of Paris that have—gasp—big box stores.

The soyim literally cannot process this.
