Yeah, I've practically had to go to war with some channels that YouTube would just not stop recommending to me. It's double annoying when it's a channel that does something stupid, I unsub, and then they just won't let the channel go. And even if they stop recommending the main channel, I'll get their side channels, fan channels, clip channels, etc. Lord knows how long it took before I finally quit seeing Linus Media Group crap popping up in my feed.
No kidding. I've reported, disliked, and everything else that I can, and Scotty Fucking Kilmer still keeps showing up in my YouTube recommended feed no matter what I do. I really wish that they had a "Block this Channel" function, but we all know they'd never do that, because they might miss out on a few sheckels from an inadvertent click.

Context: Brandon Yates is a composer for Death Battle, a show where fictional characters are pitted in fights to the death. He also takes commissions occasionally where he does scores for hypothetical matchups.

And twice people have commissioned him to do scores featuring the Nerd.

they actually do: click the 3 dots and there's a "don't recommend this channel" option. it's always worked for me
I've done that, his shit still keeps popping up. Probably because he's a cuck who actually pays YouTube to spam his videos.

Man, holy shit, I'm glad I'm not the only one. It's like YouTube goes: "Oh, you watched a few videos about how to do some odd-jobs on your car, you must want every Scotty Kilmer video ever made constantly barraged at you forevermore!"

And I probably wouldn't even care if I had the option to opt out, or if Scotty Kilmer weren't the least informative man in the automotive universe, but the 'don't recommend this channel to me anymore' button does nothing and Scotty Kilmer's videos have nothing of value from what I can tell.

This is a decent episode. But they had to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with that shitty filter on the gameplay.
Why did they even add that filter, what the hell is it supposed to be replicating? Footage on a water-damaged VHS playing on a broken CRT?

The commentary on the games is awful, too. You can tell whoever wrote the script for Bimmy wasn't even paying attention: at 10:39 "the likeness of Harrison Ford is done pretty well"

It doesn't help that I'm subbed to some other automotive channels. Hoovies, Vice Grip Garage, etc. Still, his annoying spam ads and clickbait "I'm leaving YouTube" titles every other week are a blight on my feed. Anyways... sorry for the off-topic sperging....

They wanted the footage to look "old", as if we don't remember how the gameplay looked in 2008.
Honestly I really didn't notice the blurring/shaking the first time through until it was pointed out, but then again I'm a mobile fag, with Farmville cell service. Simply using some of his older video capture techniques and equipment would have been better for the video. As far as the rest, I think it was a pretty well-done video. I legitimately thought it was an old video re-uploaded to capitalize on the new movie, until the remark about coming out with another movie 15 years in the future. Using the old aspect ratio and his old gameroom background, along with classic Nerd "motherfucker"s during bad scenes and other comments and voiceover styles really made it feel like a classic AVGN episode to me. It's definitely better than most of the Screenwave-helmed stuff over the past few years, at least.

So we've established that the YouTube algorithm has been garbage and that YouTube will still be a broken as hell site.

YT Cucking.jpg

...until you cuck YT to regain control of your time, choice and agency.
Imagine allowing oneself to be manipulated by algorithms.

Now, back to the balls on the dick:
I followed AVGN up to the Dirty Harry NES review,
and I unsubbed from Cinemassacre when the Gilbert Gottfried collab video was released,
which coincided with finding r/Cinemassacretruth.

It's incredibly sad to see what everything AVGN related had turned into,
but you can also conclude it was an inevitability. You either unsub from a formerly enjoyable channel
or follow it it long enough to see it turned into shit by YT's commandments.

Thank God for this thread.

This was actually pretty good. I even decided to rewatch the original Indiana Jones video (makes me feel old to rewatch that), and I can safely say it holds up very well to that episode and the faux-retro footage is done very well. The literal diarrhea dial (no reference to Bible Games on CDI with that line?) and reference to the original ending of Dial of Destiny is great. Only thing I notice is that while they try and capture that style AVGN had back in the day, you can still feel a lot of Screenwave-isms in the writing. It's not to the point it gets annoying or unfunny, but watching the two back to back makes it very apparent.

Overall it's one of the better Screenwave episodes, and better than anything in 2021 or 2022 besides maybe Commodore 64.

A mostly good list aside from Roller Games and maybe Ducktales 2. Ducktales 2 is an example of a game being very good but still not as good as the predecessor. But what I found distracting was how low energy James was and I kept wondering "Why not make this into a Nerd episode?" It could work, the Nerd reminisces over good games.
I'm late here because I missed this video due to tor issues (and my own procrastination), but this video was a Slobwave assload of fuck. Shadow of the Ninja and Vice Project Doom are actually great hidden gems, Ducktales 2 isn't hidden at all unless you are an actual NES fag who has never heard of emulators and ROM libraries , Rollergames sucks and the other one looks like some furfag shit that the remaining slobs probably dream about at night...But I haven't played it yet, so....benefit of the doubt.

But, game sperging aside... Why did the slobs dress Bimmy up in denim? Or was that his choice? That jean shirt is very button-laden, and he seems to quadruple down on buttons), plus it looks like he is wearing a model train conductor's hat. The jean shirt and his "acting" remind me of Jim Varney's "Ernest" character for some reason. "Know what I mean, Justy?"

That sure makes me want to buy whatever thing he was shilling at the beginning that I skipped. (Some anime vidya game or something?)

tl;dr I used to really like AVGN back in the day. Time to stop, Bims. Slobwave Era ages like vinegar.

AVGN is obviously like Simpsons. These two were revolutionary at one time, but they've gotten worse midway through and are still in production, and Slobwave really ruined the Bimmy for the worst, and Bimmy isn't good on his own.

Saw this on cinemassacre truth. The funny thing was it spawned talk about Jewwario and it lead to someone mentioning how the Farms are great for catching pedos like him lol
Jesus who's dressed worse? Jack Black's retarded Wario son, or middle aged Jurrasic Park man with the tacticool water carrier and Dad jorts? I'd rather suck a diarrhea fart out of a donkeys ear.
