Some redditor made a thread about "My co-workers listen to Joe Rogan! How awful!" And the replies were so hive minded that no less than three people all made the same joke:

If something isn't wholesome Keanu chungus, just act like an idiot clown until things are back to normal (I.E.: you are alone). We did it reddit!
Reddits hatred for Rogan is always good for a laugh. Especially the sub for his show, and by extension the fighter and the kid sub. They're full of nothing but hate watching faggots who over analyze every single thing Joe says or does. "Oh look here. Bill Burr made a joke about Joe's hat so he took it off a while later and never put it back on. And you can tell Joe's laugh is fake to hide his insecurity. You can also see how jealous he is of all these REAL comedians too."

I wouldn't recognize Joe Rogan if I walked past him in the street. I mainly only know him by people seething about him.

Reddit's absolutely seething loathing for Elon Musk is way funnier, especially since they hero worshiped him only a few years ago and barely any of them can articulate why they suddenly dislike him other than "uh......... twitter bad!"

He said a few too many nono phrases and is now being unpersoned.

Which is funny because half the techbro retards on reddit have put their life savings in TSLA stocks and would probably go on a tard rage shooting spree if there ever was a major scandal that destroyed the value of those stocks.

"i went to his job and they told he quit 2 days ago"
this doesn't make sense to me
who quits his job over a breakup like that
probably, yeah
i often find it hard to tell which reddit stories are real and which are someones creative writing exercise

that one for example:
if anything this guy probably had a present father to teach him the gentlemen way of dealing with a bitch, this is classy as fuck.
besides the dude is supposedly 30yo, no way in hell he has the energy for throwing a faggot tantrum,

i don't think i want to, at least he's better off than this dude in which predditors literally cope around saying "dude she chose you!!"
I (39M) found out I'm the literal backup to my pregnant fiancée (32F) and walked out. She's begging me to go back - not sure what to do?

basically the guy should consider himself totes lucky to have a bitch to consider him as the last option to have kids with her even like some desperate bitch wanting to avoid the cat lady route, nevermind being considered a literal safety net object thing, nah that's OP being insecure... now, reverse the roles and watch the seethium from these retarded faggots...
i can't really tell for sure if it's real. it seems a bit like a deliberate bait post with how on the nose it is about the 'alpha fucks, beta bucks' situation that's going on, feels like it was deliberately crafted to elicit these "omg how dare you not kiss her feet for graciously allowing you to be her little paypig like that" responses from coping reddit betas. but then again, why would people go through the trouble of creating fake stories like that, what does anyone have to gain from that? all for reddit upvotes? but the account is already deleted so it can't be that, plus many of them are posted on throwaway accounts anyway.

What's the best way to mass clean screen caps for uploading here?

Seeing what they can get away with on the internet.

Nobody on Reddit will call your shit out. I don't know why.

There was a highly updooted post that went viral on Twitter about how some person's parents were divorcing because their dad incurred a bunch of medical bills and their mom didn't want to be responsible for them.

Anyone with a passing knowledge of how separation of debt and assets in an amicable divorce would understand that the story was complete bullshit. But not Redditors, who rarely see sunlight.

I saw a post in another thread where a trans Redditor was complaining about their four year old not calling them mommy and felt my comment was better suited for this thread. Why does everyone believe nearly everything they read on Reddit?

That post made it dawn on me how Reddit is by far the most gullible place on the internet for nearly all who encounter it and that deserves discussion. It seems to me that nearly everyone, The Farms included, has negative skepticism whenever something is posted on Reddit. Why is that? On what other primarily text-based site/app where making a fresh account could not be easier would people default to believing the author is genuine? A fake Instagram or Facebook profile has pretty obvious tells, but a fake Reddit account looks indistinguishable from that of the typical poster.

Is it something Reddit specific or has something in the water changed causing everyone to be so completely credulous? Remember when "fake and gay" was the stereotypical first post under anything? I scoff at AI image panics because you don't even need an image anymore, just post an anonymous text story to reddit and buy upvotes and you're set. Reddit is such a huge part of the contemporary internet and this seems like a pretty critical issue to consider.

The first time this really struck me was a Legal Advice post a few years back, which I believe is still remembered and regarded as infamous. The author claims to have locked herself in the bathroom to ask Reddit legal advice about if what just happened to her was sexual assault. The "possible" assault in question was her husband restraining her and inviting multiple men over to have their way with her without her prior knowledge or consent. The supposed event was also described in detail and language out of the pulpiest erotica. Along the lines of "then he ravished by moist womanhood with his steaming member." Every single reply, without exception, treated it as a genuine request for legal advice and not an obvious LARP..

For all the attention TikTok gets for melting people's brains, Reddit either has caused or exemplifies a much more dire decline in basic critical thinking skills.

I just remembered the first time I caught any sort of ban on reddit, and how fucking retarded it was.

I was on the DC comics sub. Roy Harper/Red Arrow had just gotten a little redesign and it was kinda shitty, and I said something "wow, Roy looks like such a cunt with the stupid trucker cap". Immediately got temp banned for 2 MONTHS. I messaged the mods asking why and they hit me with some pussy shit about how "we dont allow such vulgar, misogynistic, hurtful and abusive language on this sub".

So I said "So I'm banned for 2 months for saying a comic book characters design makes him look like a cunt? Because it might hurt some random persons feelings?" And the same mod replied with this long ass schizo post saying shit like "well actually it was the automod that banned you and I was gonna reverse it but since you wanna act like such a little edgy asshole and disrespect such a beloved character and insist on continuing to use that sexist, misogynistic language I'm making it permanent. Hope it was worth it dickhead, go fuck yourself"

So I got perma banned and muted by the mods because one of them really hated that I didn't like his favorite characters new look kek

Why does everyone believe nearly everything they read on Reddit?

Unlike, say, 4chan, which welcomes its prospective user with "The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.", letting you know that whatever you read should not be taken seriously, Reddit built its fame on the premise of hosting actual stories, discussions and mostly "real" people (officially planned/announced/endorsed celebrity AMAs, user verification by mods on certain occasions). This problem is enhanced by the way it currently works: it is an echo chamber, based on a system that rewards posting formulaic bullshit for long term gains (upvotes/karma), and houses so many people who behave like living satires of the current US left that determining what might be real and what might not is, at times, like punching fog.

Some stories, like the Legal Advice one you pointed out, are easily rooted out. So are many others, like one we saw recently on the Tranny Sideshows thread, about a 20-something guy living in a highly controlling family of ultra-conservatives who tracked his every move... but didn't notice him gulping down HRT, losing several inches of height somehow, growing C-cup tits and an hourglass figure, and undergoing facial reconstruction surgery.

But, sometimes, you just can't tell. Someone posts about COMPLETELY OWNING their religious sheeple dad for asking them to stop acting like a complete degenerate for ten minutes: is it Euphoric Fedora'd Coomer #55872 posting his usual delusions, or someone merely gaming the system for awards?
It's the 37th post of the day on AITA about a transphobic bridezilla who won't let poor old Uncle Bob show up to her wedding in a microdress and stilettos. Do you think they will get all the updoots, or all the updoots and a Fort Knox's worth of reddit gold?
Things have become so ridiculous that, sometimes, it just isn't worth the effort of finding out if it's a lie.

Yeah I'm sure they won't bring down the axe on faggots who are deliberately sabotaging literally the only unique thing about reddit that anyone outside it gives a shit about.

My favorite is the troon complaining about how he was being misgendered by his parrot. And as for "believing" things from reddit, well. . .
