I'm gonna be (perhaps too) generous and say that, given the mediocrity of the complaint that Schneider drafted, and the general distasteful nature of Monty, Nick wasn't wrong to offer some initial resistance after the suit was filed. He also wanted to try this hail-marry Colorado thing, and he got to do exactly that. I think it was a rather silly long-shot strategy, and I do think it shows hypocrisy, but it's his money.
All that being said, given Judge Fischer's recent decision, now might actually be a good idea to stop being an obstinate man-baby and arrange a sit-down with Schneider.
Because if you think about it, even if Monty only gets nominal damages with respect to defamation per se, Nick STILL lost to a watermelon fucker, Nick is STILL out a metric fuckton of money to Randazza, and Nick's not exactly pulling in the money he used to.
But Nick is "ODD," so... I ain't holding my breath here. I just can't help but shake the feeling that a less "bombastic" defendant, with similar means to Rekieta, would have probably picked up the phone after he got the bad news on Tuesday.
