A lot of younger people who are entering the workforce care about nothing more than the paycheck and have no issue letting everyone know it. Take everything you've heard about how terrible working in retail is and put all that frustration into a generation that has little interest in being "professional" and hiding it, and that's how they are. Also add everything that @GunCar Gary posted onto it.
Ya, called auto insurance company today to file a claim. Person I contacted didn't seem to care much. Have had problems with the last several claims, either from the body shop, the claims adjuster, or both. For sure, the quality of the claims adjusters, apparently people in their first professional job, has been going down.

God, I can relate and yes... I'm terrified at what I see here lately in my field as well. Skill / talent doesn't get you ahead now it's having diversity points and ass kissing while just being competent enough that nobody else can do your job.

I was with a girl the other day. She used to work in Burger King when she was younger. We walked in. She was like, what's going on? We used to have timers. You weren't allowed to carry your phone on you on shift. What happened to customer service? The girls have the demeanor of someone who'd rather be shot in the face than exist.

Sorry I couldn't edit my post again but here's another plant at that same Meatball rally. This one is sadder because Meatball's entire twitter team thinks MAGA = cult and this is a woman who is wanting to be deprogrammed, so it fits their stupid narrative.

I'm also going to keep an eye if Meatball will be doing more rallies and meetings in a full suit like Trump, since he was mocked repeatedly for his fake generic politician campaign getup.

Yup. I'm basically counting the days till something catastrophic happens where I work.
This was me two weeks ago.

And then the catastrophic thing happened. Nothing flashy or exciting enough to draw media attention. Now a few dozen people are laid off, and production is dropping to zero. Even as the Government is screaming at us for more material and parts we're sitting on our asses with nothing to do. Sure, this time the machines can be repaired in a few weeks. But what about the next time? Or the time after? It's been an awful change these past few weeks, but I've become resigned to the fact that we are going to kill people and we are going to suffer an irreparable failure and lose our work. I'm no longer angry about this, I've made it to acceptance. I can only pray that I'm not on shift when it happens.

Sure, the government is going to turn a blind eye to anything because they need us, but we workers certainly aren't going to put up with it. The company can only go "oopsies" so many times when we have to evacuate because the plant got brapped by chlorine gas, or a furnace explodes and splatters some poor fucker across the decks before people just stop showing up. No amount of propaganda by the Company and Government about how "without you, the Russians would be in Poland" (almost exact quote by the plant boss) or "keeping our country safe" by providing war material for the MIC justifies dying from CO poisoning or rotting from metals poisoning.

There's no reason this couldn't be fixed either, except that the plant boss, foremen, and CEO don't want to sacrifice their bonuses or risk telling the shareholders they're making slightly less this year. Rather than spend about 5 grand to repair a faulty crane, the Company would just prefer to let it rot and force us to "figure it out." (AKA use the broken crane!) But the plant boss got more than twice my yearly wage in bonuses last year, and the Company is bragging about having a record profit last year. Yet they "can't afford" to make even basic repairs or engage in preventative maintenance.

What still bothers me though is knowing that this is how this is, more likely than not, how all of America is operating at this moment. Nobody gives a shit anymore because the situation for most of us is irreparable. Despite everything we do right, despite likely being capable of fixing the situation, we're being denied the ability to do so by the elite who would rather burn down everything than give the "peasants" another cent. We're trapped in the belly of this machine, and it's bleeding to death because it slit its own wrists to spite us.

What happened to customer service?
Speaking as someone who works retail and customer service.

Honestly, people treated us like dirt for decades, which is fine I kind of didn't care. Then Covid happened, for 2 years people sucked our fucking dicks about "THANK YOU FOR WORKING YOU ARE SO ESSENTIAL" and the moment the Populace felt that Covid was no longer an issue they went back to treating us like fucking dirt. The people who are retail lifers don't give one red fuck about what customers think anymore.

Quite frankly, shut down the entire store, put Kiosks that let you order in the front and the people working register can gather your shit off the shelves and bring it out to you. Fuck the retard general populace.

Whats weird is the lack of empathy and experience. I had a girl doing a mini freakout because she was telling me a product wasn't available. I'm like okay that's fine I know what it's like to be in customer service, you don't live in China and manufacture the components yourself and paddle them over in a dinghy, it's okay.

She looked so relieved I wasn't about to throw a shitfit. Which is weird to me. It must happen often to them.

i can't blame them
any kind of service where you have to physically interact with people is fucking hell as a majority of people are utter fucking retards
I don't even care that people are dumb. It's that the moment your manager gets a whiff of your brain matter in their nose, they start throwing a shit ton of work at you. Couple that with how bad the economy is right now where everybody is scared to look bad and you can't even just chill out at any point.

Imagine if you were a nigger, then you can probably guess why she acted that way. I've had people screech racism, sexism, whatever the fuck when they didn't get their way, no matter how bullshit their demand was.

She was having a freakout because..quite frankly people sperg over the littlest shit now. The past 6 years have turned a noticeable portion of the populace into autistic fucking spergs who can't have anything go wrong in any way.

Call it naive hope if you want, but for a lot of people 2024 is the last chance to set things right.

If they rig it, I can see a lot of ex military or pissed off civies starting something. I dont think it will be like Jan 6, but who knows.
it's not naive hope, it's fact. If you actually talk to people in person, 2024 is their last hope that America can be salvaged. If they lose hope in America, I know for a fact that some people WILL try to take out some politicians as their last act in life. They aren't discussing their plans because J6 set a big distrust in any online planning or discussion.

These are just people i know. There are billions of disenfranchised Americans with enough brain cells and determination to find a target and take them out. You just need one or two deaths from the more committed ones to get the ball rolling, and that will be the sign that it's open season for the rest. if the Democrats shamelessly pull off another steal with the whole country watching, they will never be seen in public again as doing so is an immediate death sentence for them and their families.

holy shit, i am so fucking sorry
dear god, i thought this place was exempt from lost souls like you
retail hell is a punishment only the worst deserve and that definitely shouldn't be someone with a modicum of sense

I really regret finding out what the actual unemployment numbers were. I knew things were bad, but seeing it at 52% just makes America's situation seem hopeless.

The debt problem has gotten to the point that no one can fix it. The US would have to declare bankruptcy which would be like starting over from scratch.

It's not really a surprise. Those hobo cities literally popped into existence two years ago and anyone who was looking for a job could tell you that the labor shortage was bullshit. Plus, how many people actually like their jobs? What do you even get for it? 40 hours of work is fucking useless and there's no employer out there who wants to give it to you.

As a matter of fact it's worse than being optimistic because you just become unpleasant to be around. You just make yourself miserable the entire time when you can still work on things and find ways to preserve your future.
I still don't understand this retarded insistence that pointing out that shit is unstable means you have to be a miserable sack of shit or something.

I don't know how many times I've had to say it, but it making you feel like shit to hear it isn't the same as it making the person relaying the info feeling like shit about it.

I'm honestly fucking relieved. Thought I'd be wageslaving my entire life for pennies praying for the day my heart gave out or a car ran me over. So what if a societal collapse is violent and awful? At the very least, modern life would finally have some measure of sense to it. The past twenty years have been something out of an absurd ye old play, and it was only going to get worse.

Applied to damn near two hundred jobs in the past four years. Only ever got a word back about four times. None hired me. Finally know not to even bother and just live with what I have now.

I am too lazy to get a real job, shit I turn down promotions because I don't wanna put real effort into my job.

if we can just hope hard enough with the power of friendship in our hearts it'll all fix itself. :)
The way you worded it doesn't seem very moviating. What exactly is wrong with believing things will eventually improve?

Yes, we get it things are fucked 7 ways to Sunday, but sitting there and mocking people for having some amount of optimism is retarded and is exactly the type of attitude that has lead America to having 52% employment. Nobody is under the delusion that things are just fine and it doesn't need to be pointed out in a snarky way.

Instead of pointing out the obvious and thinking nothing can be done about it, why not look at things you can actually control and work on that?
