Hey, @Null, I'm sure you've probably already seen this since you watch Louis Rossman, but I really think your input would be valuable on the latest faggotry Google is trying to pull with the Internet. I'm wondering how feasible it would be to lock down extensions without making Chrome such an unusable browser that it cripples their status as the dominant browser (similar to how DRM for PC games pushed people who didn't want to bother with installing buggy DRM titles over to consoles in the early 2000s). Might be worth talking about on MATI.

If I had to start watching advertisements online again, I think I'd probably just stop using the Internet altogether.

As a former idubbbz fan I would dispute this. Ian criticized plenty of people fairly in his Kickstarter Crap series before doing Content Cop and his humor was always relevant and on point, Which is why his descent into degeneracy and retardation is all the more tragic. He typifies the expression "The bigger they are, the harder they fall". His criticism was peerless and absolute. His jokes were always funny, even if they tended to be crude. The humiliation ritual at the end of his Leafy video where he has random people at the beach play "pin the chin" on a picture of Leafy for prizes sticks out in my mind.

If he was just another run of the mill commentary channel then his views would have reflected that. Typically a Leafy video would reach around 1 million views, and he was the most popular, low effort retard doing them at the time, they were just gameplay footage of surf maps in csgo with Leafy talking shit on someone off the cuff. Content Cop on the other hand had actual production value with a real camera, microphone, script, etc., and every single video blew past 10 million views because he was just so right about everything.

He really had his finger on the pulse of what scum fucks existed at the top of youtube and how to tear them down and expose the cancer. Low effort reaction channels like Jinx, retarded copyright loons like The Fine Bros, absolute fucking jews like Keemstar, inane "prank" channels that were probably at least 50% staged, the chinless wonder himself in Leafy (who has still not matured), pointless tech destruction channels like Techrax who simply destroy expensive iphones "to see what happens" (hint, they are destroyed), brainless white women like Tana Mongoose who have no principles, and clout chasing faggots like Ricegum who are simply, faggots. Every single one of these videos still holds up. Your average commentary tard from back in the day does not.

It's actually worse, they released the game on early access in 2020 and didn't bother to update the game itself or even talk about development of it till 2022, filling in that time with a patreon sending out what was practically porn of the main character and selling merch that went from your usual cutesy plush/figure stuff to degen shit like half naked body pillows. They 100% were aiming for that crowd with this game and its merch:

They got away with it on steam because none of this was shown through steam's news segments or even ingame, which asks the question if eventually they'll start cracking down on games that have companies posting shit like this outside of steam
