Which makes me wonder, why the fuck is she even on the farms? Not much of a safe space.
I haven't seen her produce one non-shit take, but I didn't know she was this pathetic

Get a job, wigger
My guess I bet they're probably a left wing loser who can't cope with the fact it isn't 2004 anymore, bush isn't in office, add into the fact they're a female so they're naturally entitled and honestly believe they're perfect just the way they are and don't need to improve because they're a woman. I've realized this, nothing terrifies many woman more then being held accountable for their actions. God forbid a female has to take agency in their life and say okay I need to work this job. Not someone like android raptor because God forbid they have to self reflect and it's much easier to watch my Stephen Colbert and John Stewart reruns and act like 14 and 16 year olds consensually marrying is the same as a 9 and 30 year old.

They will never accept the L and need to constantly have the last word in. They will always be miserable trying to get a last word in as everyone will see their obvious desperate failures to comprehend basic reality. Or in short why their terrified of responsibility.

The HSR will have too many stops for partially that reason. The middle part has no functional public transit in the cities or between them. The north end (SF Bay) is pretty decent. LA not so much but better than the rural valley
Being fair, the CA HSR will probably have an express service that omits most of Central California.

As a cynic, I don't even think the express service will meet the original proposed timetables.

You already mentioned it but this is another person that has confused municipal / intercity rail for inter-regional HSR.

I would venture that 95% of the drivers are not driving more than a few hundred miles per day. Of the 5%, most would be delivery or logistics drivers which HSR would not help

At best, the HSR will serve 1% to 2% of people driving.

Don't worry truck bros, the hot country girls like trucks; only urban landwhales don't:

Only fat women complain about fictional women being "unrealistic".

Old women who slept around a lot in their youth also hate trucks:

The only reason why they don't have girlfriends is because they live in an area without trains:

I like the level of cope.

If these spastics all took public transportation, they'd definitely be the weird person in the corner who looks grumpy and tries to keep anyone from sitting or standing anywhere near them.

Then they'd be on Reddit complaining about how they wish that they could use a car instead, so they didn't have to deal with all these people on the train.
They have social anxiety and sensory issues you see, so it's very inconsiderate to expect everyone to be able to travel with a bunch of strangers. It would be so great to be able to drive instead. Then they could get where they needed to go and have a social life again.

I don't disagree with the overall conceit, I actually kind of despise how cars have become compulsory, but the idea that redditors of all people would be social butterflies if only they had HSR and walkable communities is a joke.

(Also I assume most of these people don't have much experience with public transport, because outside of special occasions everyone mostly keeps to themselves)

They always use some image from a different country when trying to show how bad American highways are. That image is clearly from some Asian country, probably India because of the tuktuks.
My first thought was, two can play at this game:

See that top image? Disgusting I want my commute to smell of piss and hobo ballsack like every other Funko loving urbanist!

Yes I realize the bottom image is of a subway and not high speed rail, but if they're going to use images of India and say it's America I'm doing the same.

It's the same with the "gym of life" concept Jason preaches, which is all bullshit--there was one fatty on /r/fuckcars that basically waddled down to the first floor of his apartment and went to the store across the street.

And that guy is a lot more likely to impulse eat than the suburban resident who has to drive 30 minutes to the nearest store.
/r/fuckcars actually believes that suburban people live extremely far from businesses because of some cherrypicked photos of subdivisions where all the businesses are out of frame.

Given the choice between water for farming versus Los Angeles... I'd choose farming. Even if most of the money is in high-value stuff like nuts and avocados there's still a ton of rice and tomatoes and other useful items.

Nothing useful comes out of LA.
Isn't the south the rice basket of the country? If I'm not mistaken, states like Arkansas and Louisiana grow the most rice in all of the US.

Even so, there's this idea where there's two conflicting strawmen at work.
"Suburbanites live half an hour from the nearest stores!"
"Suburbanites are overweight slobs because they go to convenient fast food restaurants!"

The Internet(tm) tells me that California is #2 in 2018 and #3 in 2022. Probably converted more land to Almonds.

As I recall California does a fair amount of exports to Asia as opposed to other states which serve more domestic needs.

But even 1 bushel of rice is still more useful than Los Angeles.

That's one possibility, add on some shit about catcalling or some shit like that, idk.

The other being that nobody talks to anybody else, unless they were friends and boarded together or something like that. Result: everyone is lonely anyway, and views everyone else as crowding (the same way a carbrain might see every other car on the highway as congestion).

Absolutely coping on all fronts. There's a reason I sprung for my big XG350 with heated leather seats. And it's a fact chicks love Trucks. As for tow weight... lol. A F- 150 tows 12,000 pounds. My car tows around 1000. And it has a big fat V6 they pulled from a minivan. It's not just engine power, but the frame being sturdy enough not to rip apart

Add in Illinois and combine the states together, fuck yes. They don't make fancy cash crops, but they make up for it in sheer weight of grain. t. I lived in Illinois, as long as you aren't planting super tropical shit like cocoa trees, it'll grow.
